We enjoyed a delicious meal here. Try the ayam buah keluak - it's delicious, and very interesting. Good beef rendang and a lovely fresh sambal belacan.

Hi Katie, thanks for the great review. You're practically a Nyonya, with that palate for Chicken Buah Keluak, Beef Rendang and Sambal Belacan! More

You will not get such authentic Peranakan food out of Malacca. Finally had the chance to taste a really good Chicken Pong Teh. All that I had previously was no where in comparison. A simple Daun Keledek Garlic was cooked to perfection. Love the simple yet tasty Cendol with quality Gula Melaka.

Food was great, but only reachable by cars. Love the special dishes I never had in my life before, like Cincalok Omelette.

Hi SY33, thanks for the good review. Many more new experiences for your taste buds you can have when you come back. Besides Uber and Grab, we did have bikers, cyclist and people arriving in trishaws. Melaka is a small city, come away from the hustle and bustle to where we are, and we have plenty of parking too! More

Was recommended this quaint little restaurant for authentic nyonya cuisine. Found the gem! Ayam Buah Keluak. A very difficult and rare dish of chicken and black nuts ( this nuts have to be processed for 3 months before being edible) so many restaurants shun from making this dish. Also had their sambal petai prawns - stink beans with chilli sambal... More

I would recommend the chicken curry powder as it is really yummy! Try it for yourself! Cook chicken curry at home using their chicken curry powder! :)

Thanks Cally. Uncle still makes the curry powders. The one you bought can be used for all meat except for seafood. For seafood, there is another curry powder. So, we have 2 types, and sometimes mixing them can get you more interesting flavours. More

Friendly staff, good food, prompt service. Small place. Enjoyed the red / Sambal type chicken, Sambal Kangkong, rendang. Fabulous and tasty. They close on tuesdays so we had to come back again on Wednesday but worth the trip.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the good review. That chicken dish you had should be Ayam Limau Purut (Kaffir Leaf), it's my kid's favourite. Thanks for coming back! Glad it was worth your while. More

I love their curry mutton but the sambal petai was a bit too hot for my liking. Service is good and food portion is big.

Hi jyshai, Thanks for the good review. Some like it even hotter and spicier. =) That sambal petai incidentally is our most spicy dish. If it's too spicy for you, ask for and squeeze in some lime juice to taper the spiciness down. Come back and try it. More

We visited this place ten years ago, it was only 1/3 of its size. Despite the expansion, the homely feel is still there. We had Ikan Assam Pedas which was awesome. The size was huge though It was supposed to be small but the freshness is fantastic. The spicy sourness brought out its inherent sweetness. Yummy! The other dishes were... More

Thanks 398limw, sorry about the fish size. As we get fresh fish straight from the fisherman, sometimes the required sizes can be hard to come by. Yes, we noticed that many people are ordering the Asam Pedas Fish nowadays, and on certain days it can be more than our signature Chili Garam Fish. More

The nyonya food are modern type , if you are looking for original nyonya foods this is not the place. The food here are mostly spicy not recommended for a bunch of kids. Cendol is a must try.

Thanks Samuel Ong for the good rating. Some of your points surprises us and we would love to hear more on your take on modern type Nyonya food, as we would not say ours is modern. Do come back and explore our menu more, as about 40% of our dishes are non-spicy. Looking forward to having you with us again. More
