Not sure what all the hype is about this place, other than it's one of the oldest restaurants in town.... hot dogs are mediocre at best.

Chris's Hot Dogs is a great place for hotdogs and burgers. Place has been around for three generations. Very historic, famous people have dined here including Hank Williams senior. This is a must try place whenever in town.

You can't go wrong with anything that has their sauce on it. Even though they are known for hot dogs, their burgers with the same sauce are great. A combo gets you one of each. Fries or onion rings are large enough to share. Walking into Chris' is really like stepping back in time because according to my mom the... More

This has been a staple to Montgomery for over 100 years. This is your typical greasy dive with good burgers and hot dogs. Don't expect polite service though.

A great place for families! Feels like you just stepped back in time a little. We got to revisit my Grandad's past as he's been eating at Chris's since his early 20s. The sauce on the hotdogs is so good and their onion rings are delightful! Conversation with the servers - especially Miss E - made the trip totally worth... More

This is a must stop place. The food is excellent – the cheeseburger is as good as the hotdog, and the place is oozing with character. Great location downtown and the staff is excellent. Met Ray Scott, the founder of Bassmasters while we were there.

My wife and I stopped here on our way to Florida. I heard that the hot dogs were the best in Alabama but it was their hamburger that stole the show. Chris' Hot Dogs has one of the best hamburgers smothered with their Chris' sauce. But the real treat came when we were an hour and half way after lunch... More

You cant visit Downtown Montgomery without stopping for a hot dog at Chris' Hot Dogs. It has been around for ever with the best Dogs around-any kind you can imagine-any way you like it...I just love a plain dog-add sauerkraut and mustard-yummy. It should be listed as one of Montgomery's iconic places to go!

The service was excellent the history was amazing the owners were fantastic we learn so much sitting at the bar having some water with tons of hot dogs and fries. Look up the ceiling you'll see five dollar bills there's a great story to that! Asked Gus about his grandfather... More
