We were recommended this restaurant so decided to try it on our first night in Shanghi. On our arrival we were greeted with the information that their card machine was not working so they were only accepting cash. We went away got some money and went back - big mistake! Being used to Western chinese food the menu was very... More

Located al the basement on Ressource timesquare (building with a crown at its top), the Shanghai Uncle shall give you a taste of the Shanghai Cuisine. The restaurant gives at frist an "oppressive" sensation. Not much natural light, "heavy" decoration and atmosphere. The food is average, with some good dishes and other less good. They will however give you a... More

This restaurant has a nice vibe and ambience. I also really like the service, the people were nice and welcoming. The food was simply excellent. One of the must try menu is the flaming pork as they burn/cook the pork on your table. Very recommended. The only thing that might be a minus about this place is the price. The... More

A huge and brightly-lit restaurant that looks like a cabaret. Food was good, especially the crispy roasted pork, and pricing was reasonable. As there were few customers that night, the waiters were attentive and the place was quiet. However, smoking is allowed in the restaurant and for that, we would most probably not go back again. We had to bear... More

Nice restaurant in a cellar close to the Bund. Different choices from traditionell Shanghai food. We had some jelly fish(call it interesting) and the crisp duck (very tasty) as starter. The main course were some dumplings filled with crab meat and some bamboo. Both very good. The favorite one was the Shanghai traditionell tice cake. Try it. We washed the... More

We ate here recently and really enjoyed the lazy susan table top, that made it very easy to share. We were able to try a lot of different foods Crispy Pork, Shrimp Tempura, Fried Veal, Stewed Eggplant, Tofu, Chinese Kale, Fried Rice and Steamed buns. It was all interesting to say the least, I would recommend because you get to... More

We were taken their by Jane our Guide, It was the worst meal that we have ever experienced, and our group of 10 all agreed, what the other 70 People thought was obvious by the food left on the table. Cold, disgusting by any standard. We will take this up with Viking as it was not what we would expect... More

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
