The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the
world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous
waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts
monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai
International Settlement run by the British and
Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has
endured over time and is now found in the five-star
hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive

Mr & Mrs Bund – Modern Eatery by Paul Pairet. A modern French eatery. Relaxed chic atmosphere, heritage Bund location.Mr & Mrs Bund is French, in the manner of Chef Paul Pairet: born, traveled, and globally stamped. Contemporary, but not stuffy. Relaxed, without sacrificing an ounce of chic. We serve populist French favorites, through Pairet's looking glass. Service is family-style, recast for a modern table, and the wine list includes 32 wines by the glass. We riff on classics, we dish up comfort cuisine, and we serve it just like you would Sunday night dinner – sharing-style, and with plenty for seconds. It's a straightforward menu that takes simple French classics to start, and then let you add and play. Mash-ups: not just for potatoes and DJs anymore. Hours: Dinner: 5:30pm to 10:30pm (Monday to Sunday); Late Night Supper: 11:00pm to 2:00am (Thursday to Saturday)Accolades: No.43 in 2013 & No. 76 in 2014 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants & 51-100 list; No.7 in 2013 & No.11 in 2014 by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants
