This Japanese restaurant, which is located at 4/F in Shanghai IFC, is famous for grilled fish/shrimp. Some fishes are imported from Japan and some fishes are local. One can choose a seat in front of the open kitchen and look at how the cook prepares the grilled fish and shrimp. Note that the fish and shrimp are grilled upon customer's... More

For a robata restaurant, the sashimi is remarkably fresh, and, along with the grilled dishes, the best bet at this restaurant. The cooked dishes can be unusual and good (eg. Chinese yam with matcha); alas this is not always the case (eg. the foie gras with cheese wrapped in tofu skin - the sauce is much too sweet and the... More

Good little place in IFC. Service was good. Genuine. And attentive. Food was not bad. The best place to sit is around the counter but the open flame does mean it is Hot and staff will normally advise you not to sit there.

Location is fantastic, the IFC mall in Shanghai, with a stunning view over Pudong towers, if you choose the outdoor terrace. Indoor decorations are cozy. Food selection is wide. Service is good. Prices are standard for this kind of restaurant in fashionable location. A good option if you are in Pudong.

You are welcome with a warm greeting of all the staff in the beginning. It is really nice. We had the sashimi and the barbecue. Both excellent. I rated the restaurant as very good because only the hostess speaks English. The waiters don't.

Service was excellent, welcome warm and loud. Fish, sushi combimations and all portions tasty, fresh and well prepared. Sake was served promptly and setting was harmonious. I recommend for business and pleasure. Will try to come again to try lunch also.

I couldn't find a listing for Takumi at Jing 'An Kerry Center...may be because 99% of diners are local. But that's ok! I just want to congratulate the entire team here on creating a really wonderful dining experience...food, service, ambience but above all else the engaging interaction that both the kitchen and service teams create! Great place...we go every week... More

We actually went here for some sushi (which we also had and very much enjoyed) but we also had to try a few items from the bbq. An untipped favourite was the grilled avocado. We booked seats in advanced and were told already then that the seats were at "the bar". In this case it means at the bbq. It... More

It was ok..found it to be no more than a hyped up BBQ! We arrived 15 mins late because we were sort of lost...1 st day in Shanghai and we apologised profusely...but the greeters at the door hardly spoke any English and kept telling us the restaurant closes at 10!!!! Early for us! Food arrived relatively quickly, and everything tasted... More

Description
Robatayaki is a traditional cooking style of Japanese Fisherman which origins from sea shore side in Sendai. "Takumi" means"Masterpiece", the chef with excellent cooking skills. In 2011, first Takumi outlet settled in Shanghai ifc shopping mall. Adhering to the traditional Robatayaki culture, our Japanese Chefs insist on selection of fresh ingredients and using high quality charcoal called"Binchō-tan". Customers who are escorted to the Robata Counter, where displays fresh seafood and vegetables, pointing out what they want, waiting with excitement the chefs to serve directly the grilled dishes by wooden paddle. Only natural sea salt is used in the process of cooking to keep the authentic flavor. The healthy concept is much advocated in Takumi. Staying in Lujiazui

Neighbourhood Profile
Lujiazui
When people speak of Shanghai’s futuristic skyline, it’s the financial district of Luiazui they are speaking of. Shanghai’s most iconic buildings are located in close proximity to Lujiazui’s elevated ring road and swanky eateries. Sky-high shopping and chic bars fill the highrises around the area. As is characteristic of a world-class financial business district, some of Shanghai’s best malls and hotels can be found in the neighborhood. While everyone on the famous Bund side of the river gazes in awe at these amazing structures, all the buildings here, as well as Lujiazui’s riverside promenade, offer great views of the historic buildings all along the Puxi side. The Lujiazui park often hosts music festivals throughout the year, and park goers can party and stroll in the shadow of some of the world’s tallest buildings.
