We love Nene, we could dine in Nene twice a week. Delicious and good quality . Their average price point maybe slightly higher compare to other restaurants around this neighborhood but the quality surpassed. Service was good not pretentious. Unfortunately I never take pictures, I will remember next time. Davide always attentive to his guest.

A little bit tucked away in the French Concession you'll find this genuine Italian place that offer friendly service, tasty Italian classics and a nice selection of wine. Clearly worth visiting when in Shanghai!

I’ve been to this restaurant many times with friends and family due to its cozy location and typical Italian “trattoria” style. The food is generally good, some dishes are very good such as the spaghetti trapanese pesto, but some are just normal. The pizza is really nice, especially the black charcoal dough one: the base is thin and crunchy and the topping is tasty and saucy. They also offer a wide list of beverages and beers, one in particular is my favourite even if I can’t recall its name. The prices are far too ambitious.

Got the bolognese - the sauce is watered down and not too flavorful / bland. Required a bit of salt and pepper and olive oil to get some flavoring in. Even the bits of lamb were a bit dry. It seemed the sauce could have used more boiling - end result was more of a stew with pasta in it. Not sure if this is their style but having had bolognese dozens of times globally there are definitely better options elsewhere.
Price is also at least 2-2.5x comparable joints in SH so would not go back.

I have been yesterday evening with my colleague for dinner.
The place is nice and service is great, the waitress was always very nice and willing to help - when it comes to food I have my reservations, the appetizer was good because the quality of the foot itself is absolutely good, the problem is when I have ordered the pasta, here there is large room for improvement and I say that being myself Italian.

Nene is a place to eat true food! They don't care much about about the aspect but more about the food quality.
Atmosphere is cozy and dishes always perfect.
Wish i would live more close to them to go there more often

My wife and I had a very good meal with friends here. The place is in a good partmof town, its quiet and not busy. The atmosphere is intimate and quiet. The staff are very good. The food is very good, the wine selection is on a good level, we tried the wines priced from 500rmb upwards and were not disappointed. It is a little more expensive than I would usually expect however I was also not in control of the menu and I dont feel we held back. I will definitely return.

if You like Italian food this place must not be missed. Really interesting clientele too.
Great wine list mostly from south of Italy and good selection of pasta, and the black pizza it is addicting.
There in Shanghai since 8 years.

We had pizza and pasta which was ok but nothing special. The ambiente is also nice and service ok, however it’s super overpriced. Espresso for 48 rmb, aperol spritz 108rmb, spaghetti around 160 rmb. We wouldn’t say it’s worth visiting for the prices they offer...

You enter and you feel to be in a typical country house kitchen on the hill of tuscany or in the south of Italy! It's a place that immediately let you feel home. The food is real Italian, fresh and very good. You eat, you drink and you feel home.
Considering you are in China...it's more than enough to visit it.
I liked everything from the truffles pasta to the black (with vegetal carbon) pizza marinara.
It's "simply"....very good!!
being Italian I tell you that finding the quality of home cooking ... it's rare abroad, figuring in China !!

The restaurant is small but very cosy and homely feel. Food is awesome with good service. The Italian wine, Merlot Sito Dellumo is good. The truffles pasta is excellent.

This is one of my favorite place to enjoy great Italian food. Truffles tagliolini were amazing as the burrata and the eggplant parmigiana. It is not cheap but it is worth it!!!

Food was good, not spectacular or worth writing home about it. Prices are not matching the quality. As long as there are plenty of upper middle income local guests who come once or twice they will stay in business.
Try to avoid it.
