To resume, is a once in a lifetime experience, author cuisine taken to the far limits complemented with one of the best pairing I've had in my hole life. It's not just the food, but music, aromas, visuals and textures that make this not only a magnificent culinary experience, but an experience itself with its highs that tempted me to... More

It's an incredible experience. The food and drink pairings were overall excellent. Mostly small bite size dishes... enough to make sure you're more than satisfied by the end of the 20 course meal. Each dish was unique and UV does a great job of telling a story by combing all 5 senses. The staff are well trained, friendly and professional.... More

The price tag is insanity and I still can't believe we paid that much for this experience. However, at the same time, I've never experienced anything like this so in a sense, it was worth the price as there is nothing to compare it to. I am not a foodie nor do I go and try new restaurants or keep... More

This restaurant is liberty's because of the anticipation, attention to details and overall fun creates through the audio and visual accompaniments to the courses. The format of making it like theatre is effective and wouldn't be out of place at any arts festival. The hosts create a perfect atmosphere and a big thanks to Colin and Carlos who greeted guests... Loved this place, it was different and quirky. Will be a place we remember. It´s an experience more than anything else and really gets all the senses going. Loved the music, the smells and the images that are projected onto the walls. We had a huge meal, each dish was amazing. Loved the Pop Rock Oyster.

This is not all about fine dining but the experience itself is truly unforgettable. You will have a more deep appreciation of what you eat and drink realizing that it's more than the sense of taste but all senses combined - it does make a big difference. Exclusive dining, serving only ten guest each time makes it extra special; You... More

Anyway it was a last minute romantic surprise for my girlfriend now fiancé and well let's just say the food the experience all amazing. There are more staff than customers... More

Ultra avant - garde cuisine by inimitable French chef-provocateur. The atmosphere in the room is fantastic when 10 people are having fun together. If it's only two, it would probably not be the same. The experience is made for 10. More people don't fit in the room, additionally.

Description
Conceived by Paul Pairet for over 15 years and opened in May 2012, Ultraviolet is the first restaurant of its kind uniting food with multi-sensorial technologies in order to create a fully immersive dining experience.
A single table of ten seats only. A dining room of high-end technology. A 20-course "Avant-Garde" set menu.
All guests sit together. The experience unfolds as a play. Food leads.
Each course is enhanced with its own taste-tailored atmosphere: lights, sounds, music, scents, projection, images and imagination... And food.

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
