Such a great find, nestled in the corner on the 3rd floor of a bookstore, the atmosphere is cozy with a splash of decadence. Someone described the appearance as a library inside an old mansion and that's it to the tee. The service is attentive, and the staff speaks english. Note that like everywhere in Shanghai, you have to flag... More

Visited here for dinner and liked it so went back for lunch. Service both times was very good and attentive, even with the restaurant being almost full. This is a quirky little restaurant tucked away in the corner of a bookshop. There are several table options, from bartop with highstools, regular tables, and a table-bench facing the huge attic window... More

Bouquet is in sharp contrast to the bookstore it is in. It is cosy, warm, thoughtfully decorated and relaxing. The service was good, the food was good just a shame the way in and out was not as good. We had the set menu for Christmas which was very affordable, 4 courses and wine.

The ambiance is a perfect setting for a romantic date or lounging. Service can be slow, food paid attention to details, but the sound level in the place can make it difficult to have a conversation. Wine selection is large.

Western food in Shanghai is sometimes a bit hit and miss, but for the price range this place was very good - definitely recommended if you're in Shanghai for a long time and need a bit of variety. Place is fairly charming (great for dates & predrink chill-outs) and could easily fit into the cooler parts of Manhattan. Fairly impressive.... More

We had been eating Shanghainese food all week at a conference hotel and really wanted a change without going high end. We also wanted a glass of wine. We chose this place based on the two reviews here on Tripadvisor, it sounded small, intimate and nice. And it was. The staff was friendly and the restaurant is very small, with a... More

What a gem - hidden on the 3rd floor of a book shop, near Nanjing Road. The staff are attentive and speak excellent English, and the food really is memorable! Beautifully presented and priced much lower than expected for the quality! Lovely music - altogether an unexpected pleasure! We'll definitely go back again.

My friend and colleague recommended this lovely little restaurant to me for having great food, excellent and affordable wines and having a quirky and fun atmosphere and design. Well, I was interested to see if that all is true. The description didn't give it justice at all. It is probably the nicest, cutest and friendliest restaurant I have been to... More

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
