Great location in the beautiful Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund but this restaurant doesn't have much of a view. The ambience is elegant and formal. Food is less than stellar though the sweet and sour prawns was memorable. Service is somewhat inattentive.

We had a very nice dinner here and it was delicious. We had the honey-glazed barbecue pork, scallops with shrimps, mushroom soup, and a nice fried crab. For dessert we had a bowl of walnut paste with black glutinous rice. All very nice. Service was excellent and friendly.

First time to try Dim Sum Brunch in China. In my felling the tast look like the street not in the hotel. The restaurant was clean and staff very helpful and understand English.

We enjoyed Dim Sum on a Saturday afternoon with friends and family. The setting is elegant and calming. Service and cuisine was meticulous. We indulged with the all you can eat selection and was not disappointed - a must visit when in Shanghai.

We were pointed to this restaurant to experience Chinese cuisine in Shanghai. This is not a restaurant you chance across, as being located on The Bund in a heritage building housing the Waldorf Astoria, there is little or no street signage. The Waldorf is in a wonderful heritage building on The Bund and this restaurant is located on the 5th... More

Very nice interior in the also lavish Waldorf. The food was good and the service was very prompt. We samples pork belly, chicken soup and shrimp. All were good. I would definitely recommend this place.

In the roof of the luxurious Waldorf Hotel this offers all you can eat Dim Sum menu for lunch. The dishes cooked are high quality and tasty. Broccoli was fresh and crunchy, dumplings were moorish, and crispy flaky pastry filled with meat. Lacking a little bit of atmosphere however on our Saturday lunch visit.

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
