I was the same as you: “pizza in Shanghai? I don’t know.” They’ve really managed to pull it off though!
You’ll find a great selection of pizzas served by-the-slice - which is the best way to do it here; mix and match!
The prices are all pretty solid, and nothing that’ll melt a hole in your pocket.

If you're looking for authenticity, NYSP in Shanghai will leave you wondering how they manage to do it - half a world away. There are several in the Shanghai area. I visited three and the consistency was flawless. The flavor and texture of the dough are just right to fold and bite. The toppings are first class, all imported. And the sauce, I had to ask about it, is home made to the family's east coast Italian recipe. Bravo!

Nothing memorable about the food and there are many places in Shanghai where you will get a better pizza. Best summarised as ordinary. Not good and not bad.

Generally I do not visit pizza or other fast foods during travel. I stay with local food. However, it was late and raining and decided to stay with nearby restaurant.
The pizza is good but nothing unique about it. They have tried hard to create a very American ambience.
The only issue is large portions and pizza slices will get over and then you have to put up with leftover.
Local beer is good and the service is excellent. Very polite and helpful.
A little on expensive side.

Pizza in China? No paradox here. NYSP delivers great pizza and at a good price. Although we use the one in Pudong we haven't actually attended this branch. We find one pizza is big enough for two (or three if you order sides). The fact that you can add extra toppings for no additional cost is also very good. We are not from New York so cannot actually vouch for the authenticity but if we visit New York I do hope we find pizza like this!

I grew up in New Jersey so I'm not going to pretend that this place makes awesome pizza. However, it's pretty good. They offer a nice assortment of toppings and, for Americans who might be yearning for something that reminds them of home, this place serves that purpose well.

Looking for a good pizza in Shanghai I came across New York Style Pizza located in the Kerry Parkside Mall in Pudong. There are a couple of other locations but this is the only one I have been to.
I have never sat down and ate in the restaurant, always choosing to take my food to go. The menu has a large variety of different pizzas and a very large choice of toppings. Pizzas come in 16, 18 or 20 inch sizes and there is no additional charge for as many toppings as you want. In addition to pizza, the menu includes calzones, torpedoes, garlic knots, salads and desserts.
The employees are friendly and even though I do not speak Mandarin, ordering is simple and easy and I have always received exactly what I ordered.
The pizza is really good, the crust is flavorful and the toppings are fresh and it is always served piping hot fresh from the oven. NY Style Pizza keeps me coming back for more. The leftover is really good, cold, for breakfast too.
