This truly is the best breakfast in town. Tiny building with very limited seating and it is hidden behind other buildings, but definitely worth getting in.

The waysider offers great down home charm. It is small and be prepared to wait for seating. The wait is well worth it. You will experience some of the best southern biscuits and gravy ever for breakfast! The fried ham and scrambled eggs with red eye gravy are to die for. The bacon is pretty awesome too.

Cozy place with friendly wait staff, and the most delicious biscuits. If you are looking for "gourmet" food, this is not your place. If you want a "down home" Southern experience, this is it! I have only eaten breakfast there, can't comment about lunch.

Bear Bryant used to eat here! Just an old-fashion breakfast before time for my doctors appointment. We loved it!

Great biscuits and standard breakfast fare. Nothing fancy about the food or the place. Very crowded, tight and cozy. It's all part of the charm. Oddly, they have a bunch of Bama stuff in there, but I still try to go any time we are in town.

If you are visiting and want grits, go here. Scratch biscuits with "eggs any style". There is always a line but go hungry.

The Waysider will serve you biscuits that will melt in your mouth. The cheese grits and omelettes aren't bad either. Bama fans frequent this small eatery just for the chance to see other fans and even people from the University of Alabama Sports Program.

Any place at which you can special order your own omelette is the one for me! They also have southern grits and the best biscuits for miles. If you are an Alabama fan and have never been to this place, you have missed out on some nice UA memorabilia. Tell Linda and Darlene "hi" for me when you go!

While many find this a charming place, it is actually just an old house that really needs cleaning. The food comes out in parts, ex. you may get your meat, with the vegetables coming later. I quit eating there. Breakfast is no better than any where else that sells breakfast. I am sure it is "grandfathered", because it cannot be... More

The food was great. I had eggs over easy with grits, homemade biscuits& a blueberry pancake. It was great. That b'fast lasted me all day. So I could shop & sightsee UA & Tuscaloosa. Get there early b/c lots of locals. You may have to wait, it's in a house that was built in 1906. Very charming. Reasonably priced.
