Ate here on a Friday night around 6:30pm. Had made reservations (for 2). The restaurant was not crowded, however. Despite this, it was quite noisy due to all the hard interior surfaces. We were seated right away at one of the numerous tables that has a nice view of the Black Warrior River. Service was reasonably attentive. I had previously... More

The Cypress Inn has a beautiful view of the sunset over the river, and the food was delightful. The waitress was attentive. The cinnamon nut muffins that were brought with the bread were delicious. The green tomatoes appetizer was also good. My prime rib was dry and tough, but the gouda cheese grits were delectable.

My lunch of smoked chicken was just ok. My companions had seafood and seemed to like their dishes more than I did. Great atmosphere with a view of the river. Service was outstanding.

Too many excellent options in TTOWN these days to bother. I ordered the chicken and it was not the same. I bet it was frozen and ordered in from some cheap supplier...looked too...formed. Won't be back, it must have changed hands.

Good service in a rustic environment. Reasonable prices. I had the sea food platter - fried catfish fillets (great), fired jumbo shrimp, fired calamari, and fried oysters. I'm not an oyster fan, anyway, but everything else was good. 2 sides + fries included. My wife said her grilled shrimp salad was good, too. We'll go back next time we are... More

When ever we visit Alabama, Cypress Inn is the place for lunch. It was our daughters choice for her birthday lunch. It was a Tuesday and the place was hopping for lunch. The wait was not bad at all. I would normally have given this review not a 5 but a 10 star, what made me give it a 3... More

We made 11am reservations weeks prior for lunch on Iron Bowl Saturday (after Thanksgiving). Just prior to 11am, we entered the restaurant and were told we could not be seated until 11am. The crowd grew larger in the entrance area, but the hostess never sat anyone until AFTER 11am. We were seated next to the window overlooking the river which... More

The food here is always delicious. The little muffins just melt in your mouth. I always have a hard time deciding what to order!

Wife and I stopped in the night before the Iron Bowl. I had the catfish with fries and green beans. Wife had shrimp pasta. Both were good. Not a fan of the green beans. Sweet tea wasn't sweet enough for me. The rolls they bring are amazing, muffins not so much. Cool little place on the water though. We enjoyed... More
