Tortillas were being made fresh when we arrived. Five of us shared the "10 Gallitos varidos" for about $40. We couldn't finish all the delicious traditional dishes of beef, pork, chicken and vegetables. Terrific food. Great value. Definitely a don't miss!

Our meals were fantastic. You could taste the freshness and love put into the meal. Not like some touristy restaurants in area. Grounds are beautiful. One of the owners was there and making sure everyone was happy. Try the Tamarindo margarita!!

This place was recommended to us and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. We both got the tenderloin with rice, beans and roasted onions. It was cooked to perfection and so delicious. Although we don’t speak Spanish and the waitress didn’t speak English, she...was polite and patient with us when ordering. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Costa Rican meal.More

The most expensive chorizo in the world. I will never suggest you to come. This places charges you $ 30 for 16 one cm pieces of chorizo and 8 tortillas . $ 4 for a strawberry smoothie. It is unacceptable these kinds of prices.

Resturant is recommended by the host. Chicken Soup is good, but the other dish is just fine. But, we tried different food. That is good. Resturant is busy, and not all waiter or waitress speak in English. Service is a little bit slow.

The atmosphere was cute, very Costa Rican, but it is WAY up in the mountains. We were driving and by some of these reviews it sounded like it was local were stopping in for lunch, we started in Alajuela and it was a 50 minute...curvy, narrow ride up in to the mountains, I kept thinking GPS was taking us to the wrong place. I think most of these reviews were written by people on tours to somewhere, I can not imagine the cost if you were to Uber there, it is close to the Starbucks Coffee Farm. So the food was okay, the tortillas were different, kind of bland, my husband had the pork Cascado for about $15, it was bland too. This is a tourist stop off restaurant on the way to the Volcano. $8 for a corn tortilla. Not bad food, cute atmosphere, not good enough to drive to 1 hour each way for lunch.More

Chubascos was my first proper meal when I came to Costa Rica. One of my co-workers is a Tica and her brother was bringing us up into the mountain to see some of the country before the work week started. We were on our way...to another restaurant when we were too hungry to go further and came across this restaurant. There is outside seating and some indoors. The weather changed very quickly and had become quite chilly with a lot of wind. We were all pretty frozen. At first we were outside, and our waitress was so sweet she let us use a blanket because I was shaking like a leaf. We ended up moving inside when we could which helped but it was all open so it was still a little chilly. Be prepared for all weather. The food for me was absolutely outstanding. I ordered a chimichurri steak which was super flavorful and cooked just right! The plantains were out of this world and unlike any plantain I have ever ate. The beans (look gross- if you see my picture you will get it) but are so delicious. There was also white rice, a roasted tomato and these delicious carrots. I never eat carrots but for this meal I ate everything on my plate. Everyone else loved their food as well but I can't speak to how it tasted. I will definitely visit this restaurant again! None of the people that waited on us spoke any English, but they did have menus in English and that isn't to say no one didn't speak it just explaining our experience. I was with two Tica's so it was fine in my case.More

The "tipical" vegetarian casado was excellent but was not outdone by the beatiful and bird-filled gardens.

When we arrived, the restaurant was completely full (with what looked like mostly locals - a good sign!) so we were asked to wait under a canopy where we could try their homemade sauces and pickles. I must say, they were delicious! After about 10...mins we were shown to our table. The service was friendly and attentive. However, the reason for our average review is due to the food we received. We were encouraged by our waiter to try the tilapia from the new menu, but when it arrived it had been over-cooked so much that it lacked any flavour. It wasn’t the worst, it was just underwhelming, especially when we had read and heard a lot about the restaurant. I honestly think we just ordered badly as everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their food. If we ever attend again, I think it would be worth asking other people for their suggestions before ordering.More

Love this typical restaurant to eat and enjoy the Costa Rican food. In addition it's in a gorgeous location, up on the mountains, with great climate and scenery. I highly recommend it.
