Had a very nice Casado here. Very nice portions and good meat! Delicious beans and obviously a popular local soda. Which is the Costa Rican equivalent of a diner. Cheap prices also.

I stopped here for a quick lunch and had the casado con pollo en salsa. Very tasty! Food, service, and prices were all good.

Good authentic meal, substantial portions and nice bang for your buck. Uber quick service. Very busy on a Saturday afternoon. We went twice during our stay.

This is a solid soda joint. Nothing fancy but fresh food and fair prices. Service was kind and efficient. My wife got a “typical” chicken lunch that was good and a large portion. I got a dish that consisted of a sausage that’s similar to...kielbasa, tortilla and a cabbage salad.More

Great local food. Fresh ingredients, wholesome taste, typical of Costa Rican food. Not too salty or covered in msg. Casado con pollo filet was very good, passion fruit smoothie was delish, burger was good . Packed with lots of locals ( a good sign) and...tourists alike in the slowest month of the year ( also a good sign)More

Very simple spot that was packed even in the late afternoon. Came here for a late lunch and after a short wait, were seated at the bar. Service was solid and they understood English. Good selection of local standard dishes. We ordered the tortilla with...cheese as an appetizer thinking that it was queso palmito, but it looked different and regardless, was just ok. Not much flavor - tasted similar to mozarella. For our entrees, got the casada con pollo en salsa and the same thing with beef. Both our entrees were pretty tame in flavor, but definitely wasn't bad. Chicken was super tender and the sauce was pretty mild. Beef was shredded. Comes with a fried plantain, rice, beans, and diced fruit. If you're a huge eater, the portions won't fill you up. Also, i'd say that most of their juices/drinks aren't freshly-made - they come from a container in case you care about that. Same with their iced tea (very similar to Nestea). Prices are very reasonable though - we ended up leaving with the bill being around $20 after tip.More

Our tour guide recommended Soda La Horminga for good, reasonably priced, genuine local food. Didn’t disappoint, the place was busy with a friendly buzz when we arrived, and only a brief wait for a table. We ordered typical dishes chicken and vegetarian and kids meals...chicken nuggets and burger. All went down a treat, and less than £20 for family of four!!More

This place was great! Wish we ate here much sooner than we did, but we didn’t find it until our last day in the area. Much better value for the price than a lot of the other restaurants in the area. Nice staff and good...affordable food. They also have a nice fruit plate. Definitely recommend!More

The ants of New York City eat better than we did at this place. The food is tasteless, and the service is slow. Also, the bathrooms are an outhouse.

We tried out the pollo con Casado but the part that confused us was the noodle and beans together in the dish interesting mix . We tried it thought it was good until we later got sick from it . Maybe just stick with the...water at that restaurantMore

Our tour guide suggested this location for lunch, we didn't even know what a soda shop was. We had yummy meals and smoothies. I would suggest though that you not get the burger, this is Costa Rica after all - leave the burgers for when...your are in the USA. This is the best priced meal we had while in Costa Rica and one of the tastiest.More

This Soda was recommended by our tour guide on our recent visit to Costa Rica. Off the beaten track in downtown LaFortuna, but worth the search. We ordered casado, with chicken and a smoothe. Really enjoyed the whole experience, atmosphere and food.

Muchas gracias 🥰 After a day of hiking in the mountains my husband and I are hungry. At Soda La Tia had many trucks parked in front, always a good sign exactly. Delicious food and more. Then when we left my car didn’t work but no problem because Jeremy (our waiter) helped me! We recommend this place - 5 stars! Thank you very muchMore
