As a general rule while traveling. I try to never visit the same restaurant twice. Mainly because I want to try as many places as possible. I’ve now had dinner two nights in a row here and there will likely be a third. Creative menu...with phenomenal food. The quality of the ingredients shine through. I had grandma’s chicken and the kabocha risotto topped with grilled chicken. Both excellent although I’d say the risotto dish was my favorite.More

I’ve never had Buffalo before and thought, why not, I’m on an adventure. Sooooo good. I thought maybe it was going to be gamey, but no nice tough steak (go with med rare) and great flavor. My friends had the lamb to share. Very tender...and juicy. Great attentive staff and cool vibesMore

Loved this place. You can tell it's mostly tourists but it's still great. We had 6 adults 2 kids under 5 and they were very accommodating. The food was great and fast. Best shrimps ice had, great octopus and ceviche. The seafood soup was a...surprising winner too. Great cocktails and big wine selection. The ambience is also really nice- charming and cozy and romantic even. Highly recommend.More

From the moment we walked in we knew it was going to be a good night. The waiter joke with us because we were 5 minutes late and immediately sat us at a table with a good breeze. They brought us bread and the homemade...butter with sour cream is lovely. My wife & I both ordered the ceviche as appetizer but we could have shared one and it was delicious. For the main course, the tuna & grandma’s chicken were cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Thank you for the cheesecake & for singing happy birthday to my wife as a surprise. JF & FatouMore

We are planning to come back tomorrow night it was so delicious (we only have two nights in Fortuna)....We had ceviche (best I’ve ever had!), pastor octopus and Grandma’s chicken. So, we spent two nights in the Arenal area during the late 2020 pandemic season, and we made a reservation and ate here on the second of those evenings. I'm glad the open air restaurant was open, and it was incredibly clean. They actually sat...us 15 minutes early, which was very kind. We started with a glass of wine each (later had two more) and an appetizer - ceviche was good but not memorable. For our main course we had NY Strip, which was advertised as grilled but must have been pan seared (or so I wished) but the pan must not have been hot enough on entry because the steak appeared to have simmered for a bit in its juices more than seared. The result was a steak cooked perfectly medium as I requested but a bit more tough and chewy than ideal. My wife ordered the exact same meal and it was consistently the same. The best part of the meal was the accompanying side, a potato and onion boulanger, or a warm potato tourine-like stacked potato and onion masterpiece. The steak also was served with an accompanying tomato paste-based sauce that was quite tasty. The meal went fine and we were relatively pleased, despite the chewy steak, and ready to order dessert. We waited over 30 minutes for our server or anyone at the bar to return to our table. No one ever did. So, we politely went to the bar, paid, and left. This was not typical behavior seen in other countries where the diners are left to enjoy their meal and not be hounded by their servers the entire time. We were ignored, and I know because I watched as our server spent over 30 minutes talking to two young guests at the bar offering sips of this wine or that wine - giving them the fine attention that paying guests who had reservations should have been. The service to that point had been outstanding, but frankly we left very disappointed. We probably spent $100 total for our meal, not an unreasonable amount for the experience. Just not sure that we wouldn't spend 1/4 and go to a soda in town next time.More

*From the greeting to the farewell the experience was amazing, Andrey was a super host with great knowledge of the menus both food and beverage. The arracacha salad was awesome with a perfect balance of flavours, then the shrimp and scallop main, again great flavours...and perfect portion size to match. I’m not one to go all out 3 course but I couldn’t miss out on the chocolate sphere which again just blew me away. Paired with a great Bordeaux it was overall a superb experience!!! This place needs to be visited! Great food, Perfect experience. Team are full of energy and create something special. Foodies must get there. Thanks Team and all the best.* Pura Vida ❤️More

During a sudden downpour we ran into Don Rufino for some drinks. The atmosphere and staff were so welcoming. After a quick look at their menu we reserved a table for dinner. This was probably the best dinner we had in Costa Rica. The Filet,...Lamb Loin and Grilled Shrimp were so delicious and nicely presented with fresh greens and potatoes. Highly recommended for a upscale dinner.More
