This was the worst meal we had in 3 weeks and we usually love the sodas and are not fussy. We ordered rice and shrimp, it was a generous portion but tasteless. We also ordered the spaghetti with tomato sauce and it was really watery and tasted like ketchup. The bread that came with it was mushy from the water... More

We wanted to grab a quick breakfast before going to arenal and this was a great spot. The owner was extremely nice and gave us an extra juice for free. The price $5 For the breakfast is hard to beat for the area. I would go again. Only small thing is the cheese that came with the meal was not... More

Just off the beaten path, near the church, an authentic Soda awaits you. There is very little seating. The restrooms are across the parking lot but are nice. The food is plentiful and affordable. The owner is friendly and eager to hang your artwork made with markers up on his wall.

My wife and I arranged for a cooking lesson to learn how to make a typical Costa Rican breakfast and lunch. Alvaro and Maria agreed to let's into their kitchen and it was one of the best experiences I've had. Maria taught us how to make Gallo pinto, huevos fritas, plantano and corn tortilla. We also learned arroz con pollo... More

Delicioso! Was recommended by a travel guide in the area. Outer appearances aren't very impressive but the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! Great place to get traditional Costa Rican meals such as Casado and Gallo Pinto.

Mom and Pop's soda. Local simple and fresh. They had traditional choices but the owner told me I can "invent" any plate I like- so I did. 3 scrambled eggs with fresh fruit and fresh salad - I'm trying to avoid rice and breads and fried food - so I get back home the same size I left - this... More

The only reason Soda Mima isn't ranked higher is because it is a little hole in the wall! The food and the service was great! If you want your typical Costa Rican meal at a great price, this is the place to be! Every bite was good! We cleared out plates! Coffee was individual pour overs! We were very pleased... More

This is not a fancy place, but probably my best meal in 2 weeks in Costa Rica. The prices were great. The food was great. We felt very welcome and cared for. Please check this place out.
