This is one of those places that you hate to review because you don't want it to ever change. Very local place, off the beaten path, with simple tables under a tin roof on the beach. Hammocks available if you want to spend the day. Beers are cold and the food is amazing! It was the only place we went... More

What a find. The restaurant has great views, great food, great value and an excellent staff. Our waitress spoke excellent English. We hardly ever go back to the same restaurant while on vacation, and I think this will be the first. It a little hard to get there, have to go down a dirt road a few hundred feet. While... More

The food is phenomenal here, and the views are absolutely stunning. And the pricing is cheaper than a lot of places in Flamingo!

My wife and I had a great fried calamari and Coronas here on a hot day. The service was friendly. Local place on the beach.

Owned by the very fisherman that provides the meal. Arroz con mariscos and the guacamole shrimp are both to die for. Reasonably priced. Eat right at beachside tables.

We came here for breakfast and had an outstanding, traditional style meal. Our waitress was able to communicate, despite our lack of fluent Spanish, and take great care of us from start to finish. We loved the local relaxing atmosphere here. There are hammocks and local homes around and the coffee is excellent. I would absolutely return!!

This is the place you bring your friends and family to show them really good food, at a great price, right on the ocean. You can dig your feet into the sand, relax on a hammock, and gaze directly at the ocean. We have been to Playa Flamingo twice in one year, and this is by far the best food... More

Route 180 takes a sharp turn but don't take it. Continue along the unpaved road that parallels the beach, passing a few very run down beach huts until you get to the end of the road. It's a local kitchen, with tables set in the sand on the beach under thatched shelters or on a concrete slab under roof. The... More

We dined here at noon on a Monday. It's a small, locally owned and run, no frills restaurant. Right on the beach at Playa Potrero. Service was good. The mahi mahi fish fillet, lightly breaded was delicious. My husbands dorade, same. After that, rice, beans, salad, fries, and fried plantains, really quite average. And what was a spoonful of spaghetti... More

The red snapper was delicious. Setting on the beach was lovely. Service OK. Prices were OK. Hard to find. Gravel road to restaurant has huge pot holes so take care if you have a small rental car.

Description
Restaurant Estero Azul is located near Flamingo on your way to Potrero. Before you turn right at the beach at Restaurant Plemar keep on going straight all way to the back of the road (about 100m). You'll find a fisherman's house with a small eating place next to the beach. Here they'll serve you the catch of the day without paying Flamingo prices. This google search (El Estero Azul Playa Flamingo) has little information but at least lets you know it's legit. GREAT PLACE!
