We came back to Playa Hermosa mostly to ensure we could eat here again. Been to Costa Rica 3 times now and we ALWAYS come here at least once. The coconut shrimp are amazing, along with chicken cordon blue. Very good service too.
Went here after a long day of fishing and it was a good end to the day. The seafood pasta was wonderful and the sashimi was delicious. We went back the next day for drinks while hanging on the beach and it was the perfect...end to our vacation.More
Everything is great! Amazingly fresh seafood! Even the chicken cordon blue is awesome! Great drinks. Can also bring your own fresh catch of the day and they will cook it for you. I’ve eaten there a dozen times and never once had anything not meet...the very high expectations. Very reasonably priced. Would give 6 stars if possibleMore
Time is extremely precious on vacations or us and we typically do not eat at the same restaurant twice.....until this trip. With all of the food we’ve tried world wide and the standards that we’ve developed over the years, we were even surprised this location...not only impressed us on our first night in the country but also took the coveted last dinner spot in Costa Rica. The stuffed lobster was prepared perfectly and more than enough for two. Stuffed with giant prawns, fish, calamari, and delicious amazingness, the lobster overshadowed the awesomeness of the whole fried snapper. Crispy on the outside, soft and juicy meat on the inside, the whole fish was seasoned to perfection and a treat for the soul until the last bite. The parking lot is gravel and hard to find, the entrance dark and unimpressive, and the double tiered patio dining room oozes the feel of someone’s back yard but my goodness, they treat you like family. The last dinner was as the orange glow of the sun slowly set over the dark emerald ocean and on a whim, we walked down to the beach, rented three jet skis, and took off as a family literally into the sun set. Over the next 30 minutes, with stomachs filled with as much seafood as we could have eaten, we saw rainbows, the beautiful glow of the golden hour, thunder and lightning of the impending storm, and smiles on my wife and teenage children that I have missed over the past year. What an amazing trip, an amazing last evening, and an amazing world. No virus will ever stop us from enjoying life ever again.More
Wife and I came here for dinner. She loves fish and this place did not disappoint. We both ordered the sea food platters. Lots of flavor and filling. Must try for sea food in the area. Service was also very friendly. We paid about 40...dollars for 2 sea food platters and 2 drinks.More
Met another couple while we were staying at Hotel Bosque del Mar, and they suggested trying it out. After a 15 min walk along the beach we found it, courtesy of a pet pig that lives around there somewhere LOL. Looks like a stereotypical beach...bar/restaurant, but oh, those looks can be decieving. First off, the Mojitos are first-rate. Unfortunately, we all went for the Coconut Shrimp, which limits our food recommendations. That said, the shrimp were huge, they tasted great, and the ladies couldn't eat them all.
Would definitely return to try something else.More
This was recommended by our snorkel captain and it did not disappoint. It has oceanview and spacious. Our server spoke English and they had English menu. We enjoyed our lunch and my tropical drink. Highly recommend since it has excellent selection of dishes, the sashimi...was fresh and tasty, and the price is reasonable.More

Abigail T, I am not sure why you are punishing the restaurant for the behavior of a local who had nothing to do with the restaurant. Your review is the only negative one of this restaurant and you then go on to complain about the rocks on the beach. Next time you choose to travel, do a little research. I read plenty that you should only do tours thru a known company or resort. And when playing on rocks... wear shoes!
