The food was absolutely average - the fried plantains didn't have any flavour nor salt, and the main dish was also very plain and flavourless. On top of that, despite us telling the waiter we have to be done in an hour to catch the bus and him agreeing to it, we only learnt at the end that chip cards... More

We went to Tamara 's twice in two days in Puerto Viejo. Food was delicious we ate typical rice and beans and the next time under strong recommendation of people from the town we tried Rondon (fish soup cooked with coconut), it was superb.

I had the meat platter which was delicious and there was something all of the family enjoyed. It had a lovely atmosphere and I definitely recommend it there is something for everyone.

I have eaten here with my family three times. The food is good but it is more expensive than other restaurants nearby. The tables are informal. The food is typical of the region: rice and beans, Caribbean chicken and seafood.

Tamara offer very good and authentic food, and they have good prices. The portion are big, and they brought the food very fast. The publication is in the Down Town.

Ordered: carne en salsa Casado, pescado entero, and chicken in caribe sauce. Chicken tastes like it had been slightly burned in a crockpot, fish was bland and Carne ok. Staff was great and restaurant ambience nice.

There are so many restaurants in Puerto Viejo, and the small business turnover is high. If you can eat at only one place, be it Tamara. This is one of the oldest and best place on the Caribbean coast, a place full of history. The food is caribbean, simple, tasty, with flavours, generous portions and a reggae vibe most of... More

We came to the restaurant to take advantage of happy hour and ordered lime margaritas. We actually had to send them back because they had too much salt!! My companions ordered mango daiquiris instead and they weren't much better. Being a garlic lover, I ordered the garlic fish but it had too much garlic (trust me there is such a... More
