When we travel we like to have some local experiences. Jaco has a lot to offer, but did you really come to Costa Rica for pizza and hamburgers?
This place has a very informal lunch line. You point to a few items you want (rice, beans, a selection of cooked meats, salad, etc), they load up your plate and you eat.
Very inexpensive and very local.

We really suggest Soda JacĂł Rustico as here you'll find very good food at the best price in town. Portions are big and service is very kind. We tried other sodas in JacĂł, but this was the best.Definitely recommended!

When we first arrived in Jaco, I asked a local where to go for some good soda. This was one of the recommendations. I ended up coming here 2x - once for dinner and once for breakfast. The food did not disappoint in terms of quantity and quality, especially for the price point. Try the juices they have as well!
Like the local who recommended this to me, I recommend it to you!

Good plain food at a good price (for Jaco). Meat (chicken, ribs, beef stew etc) with a choice of sides plus a drink (squash) for a set price. Filling and inexpensive.

The Restaurant has moved to a brand new shiny location on the main road. They lost their lease on the original location, and were closed, but just opened up here. The food is just as excellent! Same buffet/cafeteria style. Two meats, beans, rice, salad, and a bottle of coke 5,000 colones!

This place is nothing fancy; just home cooked greatness in every bite. My family of four ventured off to this spot after reading the reviews here on Trip Advisor. I’ve never tasted the lightness of this type of fried chicken. It was incredible.
The best part is that my family of four ate for $26 US dollars. We needed a wheel barrel to leave because we were so stuffed. While staying at the Marriott has its perks, every meal doesn’t need to cost $100+ while on vacation. This was way better than any meal at some of the fancier over priced places in Costa Rica.

Decent food for decent prices
Came here several on solo travel because it was close to my hotel and I needed a quick lunch.
The food is fresh and had lots of options.
Warning: I don’t know if it’s a scam but each time (3x) that I can up to pay they asked if I was paying for the dish of the person behind me. Clearly I was there alone. But I do wonder how often they do it and double charge people.

It’s a buffet style soda, except you don’t serve yourself, the staff put your plate together from behind a glass. Such large portions for an affordable price. Lots of different dishes to choose from! And can accommodate vegetarians.

The vibe was very local. We were hesitant to try this place at first but the food was delicious and overall a very authentic Costa Rican experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for real Costa Rican food.

I went here for breakfast every single day of my last trip to Jaco. They have an awesome Costa rican buffet thats very well priced. I did a lot of physical activity while in Jaco and this place absolutely kept me going. I can't recommend this place enough. I can't wait to go back.

Delicious, quick, and truly hit the spot when our family of 6 was looking for a place to eat. There were many people there, which is always a good sign! Would highly recommend for an all around solid meal with not too high of a price tag.

You can't miss ridiculous burguer while been in Jaco! Perfect place, perfect burguer.
I personally recommend the peppermint lemonade with chicken burguer!

Soda Jaco RĂşstico is an amazing little local spot right in the middle of Jaco. Trust me, skip your hotel breakfast and go here! Perfect spot for lunch, too. Delicious, flavorful, affordable, local food that tastes home-cooked.
A “soda” is a small local restaurant, family-owned, usually open for breakfast and lunch, where historically locals would make food for passing travelers from whatever ingredients they had. In true soda fashion, this place has no menu: you get to pick what you want from the day’s buffet. (If you ever see the slow-stewed beef in salsa — get it!)
