We stopped here for a quick lunch and were very pleased. The special wrap was very good, nicely presented and the fries were fantastic. The cappuccino was also very good but extremely hot, which cappuccino is not supposed to be. Overall a good place to stop for light lunch and good service.

They make the best alfajores ever, as well as lemon pie. Their iced tea is really good because it is homemade, and they have a lot of food options (breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as appetizers, and sweets). Also a good variety in beverages (hot and cold). Nice place. I recommed the chicken empanada, pasteel de palmito and tortino as... More

I love the Azafran restaurant in Plaza Mayor - the sandwiches, fries and freshly blended drinks always hit the spot. I would go there every week if I was allowed. The restaurant is located on the other side of the road from Auto Mercado - take the bridge to get between the two. On the Auto Mercado side there is... More

Although this coffee shop's quality has gone down, the Queque Azafran is still a very good choice. Advantage is that there is free parking.

We stopped in here for a break from all the walking. Had a really good cappuccino and carrot cake. Also tried the lemonade with mint. That was very refreshing on a hot day. Nice place, clean and friendly service. Free wifi.

As somome else mentioned we also stopped after the Gold Museum. A clean little place, varied menu but a bit pricey. Slower food delivery that expected but the Sopa Azteca was delicious. My husband had pasta bolognaise and he said it was okay but a bit pricey. I would stop again for the soup.

Thank you for your review. We have moved a block and a half away from that location, into a bigger place with a complete renovation in interior design. The menu is now much more varied than it was in the old location. Hope you can visit us again any time you're back in CR. Thanks :) More

We wanted a very simple lunch coming out of the Gold Museum and before heading to the airport. This place looked to me like the only half-way decent eatery in and around the central plaza. Since seating was very limited we ordered our lunches to go and waited nearly half an hour for the order. The only redeeming value was... More

we liked this place for breakfast though it's nothing really wow, more like the cozy feeling ,homey food. We had the omelettes that were pretty good. The pastries are pretty average, I would say. No squeezed natural orange juice

I won't recomend this bar/restaurant to anyone. It presents it kinda upscale but you're paying expensive prices for medium-low quality. Don't ever eat a c5000 casado here. They will give you canned tuna (ridiculous). Head to Spoon instead.
