Very tasty food! They even made "special" menu item for me! Very accommodating and polite. Clean and inviting restaurant. A little pricier than other places on Main Street but worth it. Fresh Alaskan fish and excellent beet ketchup and french fries.

This spot may be new-ish, as I hadn't read about it during my pre-travel planning, but it was a gem and I'm so glad we stopped in! A local recommended the spot, and we were delighted with the menu and the amazing food and service...that were offered here. Came up from the lower 48 to visit and it by far the best burger and fries I've ever had! Fresh and super flavorful! Everyone was super friendly and the service was great! Food came out super fast and hot and I can't say enough...had good it was!! It is a must while you're here!More

By FAR the best food in Talkeetna. If you're looking for busy tourist spot, sure go to Denali brewpub. But if you're looking for the best food in town... Homestead kitchen is the spot! Fisherman flatbread is our favorite. Truffle duck fat fries and scallops...are close second. Could not recommend more!More

Good food, generous portions, good location--I would definitely eat there again. My nephew made a good run at a nice big burger but lost the battle (he's 11 and that burger was awesome!).

Believe I had a salad - which could've used some bread or something else to go with it. Serving size was average. My husband ordered one of the flatbreads. We were told by a couple of people to eat at The Homestead. It was quite disappointing. My wife had the scallops which were a bare morsel of four tiny scallops. The Beast Burger was recommended by the Staff and made to sound like the...best burger ever. It was supposed to be elk, bison, wild boar and Wagyu beef. It was way over cooked and was like a hard hockey muck. Not juicy at all. Toppings were scarce. French fries were mediocre. Go across the street to the Salmon Spot and get twice the food, twice the flavor and half the price.More

This is like a fast food place where you go to the counter and order your food, and then they bring it to your table. The food was very good and the service was great. The menu has a nice selection. Was here at lunch one day and had a good basic (albiet a bit pricey) lunch. That said it was much better than a standard burger bar or pizza joint so would recommend this place. The outside patio was nice. You order at a bar/register...and they bring out your food when ready. Probably understaffed as service was slow and was harried.More

The meal we had here was excellent - I had a duck poutine (being from Quebec, I like to think I'm a decent judge of what makes a good poutine, and this one was delicious) while my wife had a flatbread that was also yummy....The service was fast and friendly. We showed up just before closing at 8 and they never rushed us out the door, which we appreciated! The outdoor seating area is right there on Main Street. Highly recommended!More
