First time in Alaska, on our way to a mountaineering course in Denali national park. We stayed there 3 nights due to bad weather and unable to fly to the glacier. We really enjoyed our stay there. 3 of us stayed in the 'lill cabin out the back' which is nice and gives a little privacy To be improved: -... More

Stayed in Talkeetna, AK over the Thanksgiving week. Had a wonderful breakfast every morning. The Talkeetna Roadhouse is a 100 year old business and building on the west end of Main St. I do not believe they serve dinner but after a Roadhouse breakfast or lunch you are too full to eat dinner. The bakery is full of tasty delights... More

Don't spare, get the Standard Breakfast. It kept us content until afternoon. The potatoes and eggs are cooked perfectly. Peppered bacon and home made bread square off this meal for the day.

Our recent visit to the Talkeetna Roadhouse was made during late fall when this village is quieter after the busy summer months... this place is open year-round and offers a large menu of home-cooked dishes (served in very large portions), along with items to go (including both sweet and savory baked goodies). We enjoyed the enormous sourdough pancake and home... More

Great service, food and drinks. Especially loved the fish and chips and the sweet potato fries! Friendly staff, who were knowledgeable about the menu options.

We stopped here on our way to Fairbanks. It is 14 miles off Hwy 3, but well worth the short detour. You order at the counter and find a seat in the dining room. They offer a selection of soups, sandwiches, and homemade baked goods. The tomatoe basil soup was delicious and the reindeer soup was hearty. We got chewy... More

Mid day stop and only went to the Bakery side & what a great experience. The selections are numerous and outstanding. I couldn't resist and went for cinnamon rolls for the road. Would certainly go for the breakfast experience in a heart beat.

Loved the character of the restaurant, the open seating/never met a stranger seating, the excellent food, and the friendly staff. Service is fast and efficient, the cinnamon rolls are as big as your head and YUMMY, and both breakfast and lunches are filling, very tasty, and prepare you for your big adventures in the area.

Ate lunch here. Food was delicious and portions generous. Friendly service too. They also had some vegan items on the menu.
