Despite the title of this review, this is one of our favorite places. The owner/manager is a former miner and has the hand shake to prove it. The one thing he knows for certain is the proper way to cook a steak which are hand cut to order. It's hard to get and keep help in the middle of nowhere,... More

OK. Where do I begin. Well, I've seen the reviews of this place, both negative and positive. So let's set it straight right now. If you think this is going to be fine dinning, you're wrong, If you think you're going to get super fast service, you're wrong. If you think you're going to get white table cloths and linen,... heard it was a good place for dinner. I would have driven by but we stopped in and the inside was as unimpressive as the outside. We waited 30 minutes to get a table because the cook/owner was busy drinking and socializing at the bar. probably should have been our first clue. the steaks were awful. the waitress/bar attendant was... Been meaning to try the place for months. Finally got around to it. Interesting place....old stage stop, brothell, etc. Inside probably not much different than it was 100 years ago. Food was average. It's hard to kill a steak over mesquite....really can't complain about it. Lobster was a bit tough...if I owned the place, I would have cooked the lobster... More

Friendly owners and service, historic building, cold beer and great steaks. I can't ask for much more. As another reviewer said, walking in here feels like stepping back in time. The building itself is well over 100 years old--see if they'll let you check out the massive old vault and safe where they kept miners' wages. The railroad spur outside... More

Have happily eaten here several times in the past. However, we went last night and it was unbelievable! First I have to say that knowing the restaurant is now run by an older couple, with apparently no help, I was ready to cut them some slack. But, we waited for more than 5+ minutes to be seated despite there only... More

If you like to go on road trips, on the older highways and back roads in Arizona, if you like to visit historic places that are reminders of a bygone era in a simpler time and you want to find a great stopping place with a warm and friendly atmosphere, Western cuisine with great steaks and burgers grilled over an... The food was excellent, the prices were absolutely the highest in any restaurant that we have been to in a while. Getting a diet coke in a can was a little shocking. Helpful hint: don't go when the outside temp is above 80. There seemed to be no air conditioning and the place was a boiler room! I was sweating... More

Yes, it's the dead of AZ summer, so the fire in the middle of the restaurant adds to the heat - but an old fashioned atmosphere is wonderful. The guy behind the grill cuts his own meat. You have to give it a good.

Our third dinner visit since fall of 2013.The Kirkland Steakhouse is a slice of history 90 miles from Phoenix ,45 miles from Wicvkenburg and about 30 from Prescott. This 1863 structure, once a Wells Fargo stage coach stop now serves really great steaks. Our son requested this for has 22nd birthday dinner. We arrived about 6 pm on a Saturday... More
