Situated in a friendly little shopping centre (where shop owners are ready to go out of their wsa to assist you and make you feel welcone). Inviting atmosphere with blankets for those who feel chilly and flavoured water for while you are paging through the diverse menu. We had a steak and chicken bunny chow. Both delicious and exceeded our... More

The coffee is pretty good but not as good as we expected. They do claim to have the best coffee after all. But the breakfast ahhhh it was delicious. I can't quite remember if it was pancakes exactly, but something like a stack of banana pancakes with nuts and creme fraiche. if you see it on the menu, order it!... More

We revisited the Bistro last month, but were a bit disappointed. The pork neck dish was served without any starch and uninteresting veggies. The pork was very tough. The Eggs Florelle was good, but cold on a cold plate. Apparently the plate warmer was broken!! However, the coffee is the best ever and well worth a visit to have.

WiFi, great coffee, quiet environment, excellent food and great service. Top notch cappuccino, almost didn't have lunch as I could have had cappuccino all afternoon. Halloumi salad was fresh and perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed the cheesecake for dessert. The staff were very attentive. The music was captivating, excellent selection. I had a lovely afternoon and my business meeting ended well.

I ordered a burger which was delicious, my wife beef curry, sorry ( stew) , no taste of curry or any spicy flavour. Managements excuse, that is how they prepare it My advice, curry is curry not a stew, catch a wakeup Service commendable Venue not very appealing, typical rural town.

The food was gorgeous at Lemon Tree. We visited at around brunch time and the staff were friendly and welcoming from the time we arrived. The bistro itself is situated in a sweet little part of town surrounded by a host of shops stocking all kinds of nice things, from honey, wines and jams to shoes, books, kitchenware and educational... We stopped for lunch on the way to Bushman's Neck Hotel. Service was excellent in the quaint coffee shop / restaurant.. Menu prices for basic meals, (toasted sandwiches etc) were quite steep..

Description
Since 2002 hundreds of coffee devotees have trooped through the Lemon Tree doors every day to enjoy the amazing cappuccino. For the second time in three years a survey of around 350 restaurants in KwaZulu-Natal rated LEMON TREE’s cappuccino one of the province’s 20 BEST. This accolade was achieved in the definitive 2010/11 and 2012/13 Sunday Tribune Cafe Society Awards. The international hospitality monitor, TripAdvisor recognised Lemon Tree Bistro with its 2013 Certificate of Excellence. This prestigious award places the restaurant in the top-performing 10% of all businesses worldwide on TripAdvisor, and indicates businesses that consistently earn high ratings from TripAdvisor travellers. The hospitality and catering team, guided by owners Huck and Elsabe Orban, has taken what was essentially a coffee shop with a Continental slant to the level where it is one of the best recognised country restaurants in South Africa. Not only is it listed on several international country travel guides as a "Must Visit!" - amongst which the popular Lonely Planet - but it also serves as destination for both foodies and coffee aficionados. Its easy-dining, bistro menu to which special features like Venison Pie, de-boned Rainbow Trout, the incomparable Kudu Fillet and the famous pistachio-crusted Lamb Cutlets have been added, ensures that everyone's taste from essential to eclectic, is catered for. Besides the crisp croissants, baked on the premises every day, the Lemon Tree will serve you the most memorable Prawn Pasta, Prego Roll and hand crafted Toasted Sandwich you have ever had. Finish that off with the oh-so-moreish Beetroot Cake and a cappuccino and you'll be back for more.... time and again. When you walk through the door you enter the Lemon Tree's wonderful world of goodies... an interesting selection of books - both old and new, a range of branded and house coffees, brewing and cookery requisites and a deli filled with a delightful range of wines, imported biscuits, chocolates, jams and condiments. See you there...
