My wife and I have had some really tasty food there, but last time we went we got the Chinese food to go. We put it in the fridge ate it the following night. I can't give proof it was this that made us sick,...but I can't think of anything else it might be. My wife and I had terrible diarrhea, she threw up, and we have been unable stomach any food for the past day and a half. To be honest, we loved the other food we got here. Just be aware that eating the Chinese might have bad side effects that may last a couple days. Also, their to-go boxes are terrible. They break very easy and your food will spill everywhereMore

I was so excited about visiting this authentic Indian restaurant. I ordered Chicken Kathi Roll. The chicken is supposed to be a Tikka variant but it tasted only of salt and was spiceless. It looked like tikka but certainly lacked the delicious tikka spice. My...son had the Palak Paneer. It tasted like turmeric gravy that was devoid any spices. As an Indian who has an expert palette on Indian cuisine I was very disappointed.More

This is a favorite eatery to take newcomers to the city. The food portions are very generous. There are various menus to choose from. The food is very well priced. You can order take away or sit down. The seating on the ground floor is...in the buzz of the bazaar. The top seating is much quieter.More

I am not quite sure about this place to be honest. Although i appreciate to see something new and that my friend have taken me, and i could at least try, the food and especially the curries have been an disaster. That needs some explanation...i guess so, first of all all those curies are not made fresh from scratch but are prepared before, whicj makes that the taste is a bit lost, as well they put way to much artificial ingredients in it and gravry, which ment the curries are absolutely disgusting, as i have never eaten anything in my life so far. Also, I disliked the "veg" curry which is just pure patatoe with gravey, and the dosa is not tasty and they don't appear to do hot drinks in the evening. The place is very barbeque smelly, and also the eatiry felt very much like an Eastern European restaurant style which came straight from the 1950s, which ment that.major renovations have been done. Also, There is an MAJOR difference between Indian Cuisine, I am an fan of South Indian here, but also this dishes are very much Westernised in a bad way. I left my dish and promise that i will never go again here, Absolutely horrible.More

Always such a treat to frequent this unique culinary alley in Cape Town... Upon entering Eastern food bazaar, you instantly swept to another continent.. vibrant colors, Eastern music and boquette of fragrant spices adorn your senses ... offers a wide variety mouth watering Eastern food...choices...servers, eagerly awaiting to take your order. Portions are well priced, healthy, freshly made and never disappoint... This establishment should NEVER be missed .. even if you not into spicy foods.... Suggestion Order your meal as takeaway and pop over to the VOC company gardens, which is short walking distance, here you may enjoy your meal in peaceful shaded garden surroundings.. plenty comfy park benches available.More

Busy. This place is where Wellingtons used to be a long time ago. Wellington fruit growers used to sell all things sweet and more. I am therefore happy that it's been replaced by food. Fast Tasty. Affordable food for all. The place has a fantastic...variety of choices. You place your order and queue for a few minutes. Sit down or take aways. The atmosphere is like a busy yet orderley market and everyone is treated equally halaal only or not. I love the consistency of professional efficient service every time. This time I had a pita lamb swarma served with salad& Chips and hubby enjoyed a masala cheese and potato dosa. Should your food be too much, there are many outside/surrounds that will benefit, so use the opportunity to be kind and pay it forward. Thank you much for a different wholesome tasty eating experience from entry to exit. Please stay as long as you can and be our new old landmark in Cape Town for future generations also.More

Best. Food. In Cape Town. Go with friends--the portions are huge, and you will want to try some of everything. A variety of counters with food ranging from many of the countries of Africa and the Middle East. The people-watching is great, also.

Huge portions, and very reasonably priced. The three of us ate with plenty of leftovers for about £12 including soft drinks. The majority of the food choices are based on Indian cuisine, with some Chinese options. We primarily went to try bunny chow and opted...for the vegetarian chow. It was flavoursome and very filling. The Hakka noodles were spicy but was lacking in other flavours. This is a cheap eat, so expect plastic cutlery and sticky tables - all, however a part of the experience!More

Primarily India food, but there is some Chinese, some western and ice cream available. The portions are huge, so my man and I get one and share (we are pretty decent eaters). Chicken Curry costs 55rand and you can get a big garlic naan for...an additional 18 rand.More
