while they are generally not open for lunch, the restaurant accommodates guests for lunch if they book. In this case we were the only ones. The menu is the same as for dinner and as a result the prices are a bit steep for just lunch. We each chose two starters and were pleasantly surprised. Good quality and tastes. e.g. I... More

Thank you for your lovely review. We are open for lunch every day Monday to Friday. No need to book! As you will have noticed there is a construction site opposite us and early in the year the noise was terrible. This is now much better although we do still tend to keep the door closed. What many lunch customers... More

The food was good and the interior is nice too. I love the exposed brick walls. The service was also nice. If you like a nice dinner at a nice place it's definitely the place to go to, but when that's said I didn't feel there was anything special about this place. It feels so mainstream like all other restaurants.... More

This restaurant is truly fabulous, the atmosphere is relaxed and the food was wonderful and thoughtful. My husband and I shared the best beef tartare we have eaten, followed by 3 little pigs and a duck and both truly delicious. We drank a bottle of Bouchard Finlayson Hannibal, which was perfect and for pudding had chocolate and orange marquise, which... More

We visited Savoy Cabbage in Hout Street as it was only 10 minutes walk from ou Airbnb apartment and they could squeeze us in on a Saturday night. We were not disappointed. I had chicken liver parfait followed by brined warthog. My husband had beef tartar and beef fillet with blue cheese crust. The service was excellent. The wine list... More

Thank you so much for you lovely review and your enjoyment of the service. I do just want to comment on the wine list in case your observations influence others negatively. We do have a boutique wine list with some considerably older vintages, Cape Winemakers Guild wines and some of top end wines from the very exclusive producers. We cellar... More

What a wonderful restaurant - in every respect. My server, Imani, has been praised in a previous review and deservedly so. She is knowledgeable, elegant and affable. The food was out of this world. Every course was perfect - large portions, the freshest ingredients and beautifully plated. The selection of after-dinner single malts showed a connoisseurs' touch. It is restaurants... More

I've been to Savoy Cabbage a number of times and it never disappoints. We had a lovely evening with equally lovely food. The lamb rack was delicious and the desserts were absolutely divine. It was all we could to not to lick the plates. Our service was outstanding. We'll definitely be back.

Booked here having had it recommended by friends. It was by far the most expensive meal we had in South Africa and probably the most disappointing - especially when taking into account the cost. The tomato tart was a round of puff pastry with three halves of tomato on it. It needed some basil or Balsamic glaze or something else... More

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal, with excellent service throughout. Food was to a high standard and the atmosphere was great. Restaurant was full but the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food and wine, which was just what we needed on our second night in Cape Town. Very good vegetarian selection plus other dishes could be adapted as... More

Found by chance online & phoned to book a table. Food was excellent, table in a good position. We were served by Sakhumzi who gave us outstanding service - well done. Would very strongly recommend this restaurant to you when in Cafe Town. Great value for money.

Description
Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.
