We thought this would be an unusual venue which it is but due to 3 large parties there were only tables close to the window which has a spectacular view but quite cold. Our starter of snook pate was tasty although the onion marmalade was bland. My husband had the prawns which he said were good, but my pasta was lukewarm... More

On our last visit to Hermanus we wanted to have a light lunch here and enjoy the view. Only table left was on the lower terrace, not bad. first we waited for the self occupied staff to take the drinks order then a further 20 minutes for the waiter to take the order ...then another é( min wait for the... We were there twice. Once for drinks and desert, what was kind of great. Next time went back for dinner. Hardly got served, as long as they want to close the kitchen at 8. (Seriously?!?) . After that we ordered two beef steaks. This were the worst on our 15 day tour through SA. The atmosphere is quiet amazing: so... More

The food was expensive and bad. I had a burger with the added "house speciality" (brie, onion marmalade and bacon ... for an extra R35!). The burger patty had strange orange spots in it, I imagine from whatever spices they use in the mince, and this was extremely off putting. It was almost too dry with the added "house speciality"... Beautiful view. We had a table on the rocks. Service very good. Interesting menu with good quality food. A bit pricy. The steps up and down is not for the faint hearted. You need to be physically strong to do the stairs. Ambience very pleasurable

Wonderful experience - enjoyed lunch immensely and the staff could not be friendlier. We didn't see any whales but it really didn't spoil watching the seals and people. The ribs are to be recommended.

A group of friends with our families. What a spectacular location but somewhat stressfull on 66 year old knees. Food was good and atmosphere really magical. Cannot wait to take our grand kids there!

We went to see the whales but the ocean was too rough for them or they had all gone home. We then found this great restaurant and bar located in a cave with fantastic views over the ocean. We had eaten already so just had a leisurely drink taking in the ambience. Watch out for the sign on the promenade... More
