We were with six people for diner. I would say the starters were ok, but not special. The problem was with the main dishes and the wine. We asked for a Sauvignon Blanc, but after five minutes the waiter returned and mentioned that the selected wine was not available. Then we choose an other bottle. When that bottle was finished... This restaurant was recommended by our B&B and it was a good choice. The ostrich carpaccio was tasty and the rack of lamb was tender cooked perfectly and delicious as only Karoo lamb can be. A good wine selection and a fairly extensive menu make this a good choice for dining out in Oudtshoorn. The restaurant is situated upstairs in... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel so had high expectations however we were let down terribly. My mother-in-law ordered the duck which arrived overcooked and shrivelled up with half of the side dishes promised in the description actually missing. The food was inedible and was sent back. I had the lamb shank which was also overcooked and tough.... More

Beautiful colonial style hotel with a romantic candle lit meal (load shedding!). 1st try of ostrich was excellent and coped with large groups (we were 6 and there was a family party of ~20 nearby also being dealt without impacting us). Very well presented food and good selection of wine

A cold evening presented us with the opportunity to dine in this traditional restaurant. The ambience was warm, and the tables are set in a classic way. The service was friendly, informative and pleasantly relaxed. We were not rushed nor overtly given the sales pitch. The meal was really good, and beautifully presented. I recommend both the ostrich and the... More

unexpected, but truly one of the best fillet steaks I have had in twenty years. Well done to the Chef. If you ever in Oudtshoorn, this place is definitely worth it.

Our B&B booked this for us as there are apparently not many restaurants open on a Sunday night. It is inside the hotel, on the first floor, so not a place where you would get passing trade. Because of this there were only one other couple eating in the restaurant which was such a shame as the food was delicious,... More

Always the highlight of our eating-out experience in Oudtshoorn. 5-star service, food and ambience. Enjoy your meal on the balcony. Perfect position in centre of town.
