The view over the vineyards is hard to beat, but the quality of the food perhaps did that. I had the pork belly with kimchi, which was simply excellent, especially when taking the price into again. The service was also very friendly, so I will...definitely be back.More

Starters to small, wing sauce to much garlic, Beef Fillet was overcooked. Fries was too brown and oily. Would recommend peppercorn sauce. Compliments to Ralton the barman for a wonderful service.

Amazing day out with my mom. Oyama was our waiter, and man oh man was he amazing. And when the other friendly waiter passed, she would stop and make sure everything was okay. Great service, food and ambience

Stunning setting and a lovely restaurant with great decor and ambience . That is it. The service was poor, the food was delivered in stages with up to 10 min delays. Constantly had to find a waiter to serve us, and it wasn’t that busy....Food quality good but the requirements as per the order were not met. Things like medium, became medium rare etc. Management/owners need to take back control, ruining a great opportunity here.More

The infinitely cozy and stunning restaurant with exceptional mountain range views is a must visit for breakfast and lunch as, well - the ambiance is truly outstanding and certainly child friendly - our waiter, Lena was great and attentive - the kitchen staff, though can...improve on their attentiveness - asked for medium friend eggs, however were served overcooked hard eggs - while the mushrooms are of the best, it was extremely cold - I would recommend that waiters should consider asking patrons how they prefer their baguette (bread), lightly toasted, or crispy - overall a remarkable experience and a must visit, when in Paarl, or on route on the N1, since it is fairly close to the turn-off from the N1 - well done Lena and we will certainly return.More

We were very excited about the opening of this restaurant and adjoining venues - unfortunately from our first great experience and each subsequent visit till our definitely last one, the portions have been minimized to child portions, the food quality has deteriorated (bottled sauces), added...dishes like fresh bread, has been taken away, and unfortunately the friendly staff are left undirected, there is no presence of a manger on duty, and although willing, serious training is lacking in all areas. We were not allowed to bring wine, yet saw other visitors have their wine taken to the back and returned on a tray. We would love to see this restaurant revise its offering to become a popular bistro style well managed local destination the locals can enjoy all year round rather than a failed fine-dining experience.More

Based on the number of reviews we probably would not have visited Stoep. This was the best meal of week! Beautiful restaurant, nice menu. The pork belly was incredible and the Caesar Salad was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Service was poor, had to go fetch wine glasses ourselves. Had to ask for menus for the kids after about an hours wait, with 4 kids at the table! Some of the orders only came after numerous follow ups. Received ice bucket which we had...to sent back, because it was very dirty! Food was ordinary for the price. Not at all worth the money paid. Will not visit againMore

This restaurant had been suggested to us by a friend, who was ecstatic about the setting, with sweeping views of vineyards and Paarl Rock, so we decided to try it out. We went for a morning coffee and light breakfast. It was about 10.30 am....The restaurant was not at all busy. We were not sure where to go, and although this must have been obvious from our hesitant entrance, we were simply ignored by the staff (two waitresses and a barman) who were more interested in talking to each other, and the one waitress laying a table right beside where we were awkwardly standing, without any comment or giving us any welcome or help. Having seated ourselves, we asked for coffees and ordered a breakfast dish each. The coffees did not come quickly, (what is difficult about making coffee these days?) although it is fair to say that the coffee was good when it did come. But we waited and waited for the breakfast dishes, to the point where, after 25 minutes, we told one waitress that if they did not come in the next two minutes we would cancel the order. Miraculously, they then, of course appeared. My crushed avocado on toast was certainly tasty and interesting, with pickled shallots and toasted pumpkin seeds. However, my husband wanted a simple snack of scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. The scrambled eggs looked more like pasta, the bacon was not crispy and the toast was barely toasted at all. However, with the delay already suffered, we did not have time to ask for it to be better done. There was no offer of anything else we might like with the meal, so my husband had to expressly ask for tomato ketchup to help moisten the food. Neither was there any offer of water. We also had to ask for this and, having of course now long drunk the first coffees, we needed to order more, to go with the food. Catching any server’s eye was difficult. By now, having had to rush our eating, because of the delay in bringing our food, we were pressed for time. So I had to go and pay at the cash desk, rather than wait for a bill. In short, the setting and the views from this restaurant are spectacular. If all the food had been as good as my own dish, then that would have been nice as well, but it was not. But the most disappointing thing was the off-hand and inattentive service, which can only be described as perfunctory. Very sad.More
