Amazing lunch here. Food is so fresh and staff are super friendly. Highly recommend it! Very reasonably priced given the quality of the food. Quirky interior! 😊

One of my favorite places, whether its for a date night or just a drink with friends this place is a must. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is like none other in stellenbosch. This restaurant is a must for anyone visiting stellenbosch.

The most majestic oaks form part of the entrance to this quint spot. Frequently visited with my family for excellent platters and pleasant atmosphere

Lovely location, friendly service and a tantalising menu. Will return again to explore the numerous wine options on the menu.

Unfortunately hard to get a table as there are very few tables and bookings are usually forgotten, but totally worth walking past there often looking for an outside table. We always have the big De Stomme Jonge platter with cheeses and meats, incredible value for money. Can feed four regular people or two piggies like us. What a spread!

After a long day of wine tasting my daughter and I were super hungry. The menu had some interesting varieties and combinations. We brought I own wine along and that was no problem. The 'roosterkoek' was definitely no disappointment! It was very tasty and fresh! I loved the big tree right next to us. The service was unfortunately a bit... More

I have previously left a rave review for this restaurant, but it has unfortunately gone downhill since last year. The friendly staff seem to have vanished and the food was average rather than awesome. There are now far better places to eat in Stellenbosch.

We visited De Stomme Jonge this past week and I must say that it does not hold up to the rave reviews I read beforehand. The place has a certain rustic appeal, perhaps, but cleanliness is never optional. The Roosterkoek was of a decent size and quite tasty but the wooden plates it was served on needs to be replaced.... Dynamite comes in small packages and that is so true about De Stomme Jonge! Such a tiny little restaurant but it packs a punch! The menu is filled with interesting little surprises and local fare with a twist. They have a lovely selection of craft beers on tap and Milk Tart to die for. Definitely a place to visit when... Some places are just picture perfect and De Stomme Jonge make 20/10 on that with the big oak tree making this small cafe/bar an amazing place to relax and eat freshly baked bread platters
