Had pizza here with a work colleague. Staff was very friendly. The pizza was nothing great. Base was doughey and toppings a bit light on except for cheese which was too much for my liking.

To start with, en excellent Mojito. The, the starter, a Burrata (creamy mozzarela) served with ruccola and prosciutto! Made me wonder why I never heard of Burrata before! I am hooked! Then a tuna as main dish, very tasty. All to go with some really nice Argentinian wines (ask the staff for suggestions). I'll be back next time I´m in... More

Early on Monday evening it was surprising that the restaurant was completely empty and we were welcomed with a comment that the kitchen was closed, although fortunately they could still serve pizzas! And freshly cooked, delicious pizzas they were. An open area with fire oven was at the back of the ground floor and a decent sized well cooked pizza... More

A traditional restaurant that's been in business for decades. Good for pizza and pasta. My companion ordered risotto with prawns and had to send it back as they were off. My pasta was good. So beware

I think this is the best italian restaurant in Retiro area. One of the features of Filo is its oversized pizza which is enogh to satisfy 2 persons appetite. Pasta is also recommendable for its 'al dente' boiling. I liked Spaghetti Alio e Olio.

This was our first meal in BA after traveling. As is typical, we were treated a little different because we didn't speak the language, but not too bad really. They had a sense of humor with us trying to communicate. Finally they provided an English menu. The pizza was good and the wine was very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is... More

Superb bruschetta , pumpkin ravioli and pizza. Lovely meal and great service. Try it out ! We booked at 20.00, and there were probably 30 diners there by 20.30. Some interesting drinks as well - home made lemonade was fun.

I went to a birthday party here two weeks ago. There was a group of about 15 of us at the back of the restaurant and rather than order meals off the menu, we had a bunch of different pizzas delivered when the ones on the table were eaten. I had a bottle of wine as well. The pizza was... More

Pizza made in a wood brick oven is excellent. Otherwise they offer a large menu of Italian food. Make sure to order a dessert. Centrally located.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
