As a New Yorker I am very familiar with variation of authentic foods. I was expecting some kind of good food from a big country like Argentina, especially meat dishes. I found always something missing with the food served. Such spicing or choices of foods serviced with. When they say serviced with salad. It is not salad actually only leaves... More

A very trendy Asian fusion restaurant, with lots of funky dining and bar areas including bed-style reclining couches. Very comfortable, delicious food and drink! It's called 647, the address being Tacuari 647. Good for a late night out, if you want to feel like a celebrity without paying London-style celebrity prices.

Walked all over town to get to this place. Arrived around 8:30/9 pm and the area was deserted. From the outside, the building looks rundown and no lights were on. We double checked the address and we were indeed standing in front of Tacuari 647. After asking around to see if anyone had heard of 647 Dinner Club, the locals... More

We booked this restaurant for New Year´s Eve and we were told that it was $200 US per person but included all your drinks, food and entertainment. After a lot of agonising we booked it because we didn´t want to be stranded on New Year´s Eve. When we arrived at 8.30pm there was no one there but it filled out... More

My wife and I just spent 6 days in Buenos Aires and decided to make reservations at 647 Dinner Club. I had read some Tripadvisor reviews and saw some other glowing reviews so we thought we would give it a shot. Things were not off to a terrific start when we were walking down a VERY questionable street in San... More

beautiful beyond our expectations. great menu with a few good choices for my vegetarian partner (hard to do in BA sometimes). Courteous and subtle staff. Fab lavetory even. We have eaten at Alinea in Chicago but this is the 2nd best meal we have ever had. Dessert was orgasmic. Did not review wine list...cocktails were too fun. Reasonably priced for... More

We would have to agree with the title of "Best Restaurant in BA" for 647. We went recently as our final meal of the holiday after hearing many good things and found them out to be true. The food was really a level above any other place we had ate and it was a wonderful way to say goodbye to... More

We discovered this restaurant through Conde Naste Traveller's Hot List 2008. It was featured as one the the best new restaurants of 2008 in the world. We decided to go and as with all highly touted places we wondered whether it would live up to the hype. The place itself is decorated beautifully and was totally different to any other... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
