We had an excellent time at Casa SaltShaker. The food was very delicious and it was clear that Dan and Henry put a lot of thought and detail into curating the perfect menu for the night. Talking with other guests and Dan was so refreshing...and made our night very enjoyable. We'd highly recommend anyone coming to Buenos Aires to stop by.More

We very much enjoy an opportunity to eat at supper clubs and similar small, intimate venues where we can talk with the chef and share wine and delicious foods with other people interested in similar things. Our time at Casa Saltshaker was a wonderful evening....The food was delicious (after 3 weeks in Argentina we really appreciated the salt, spices, and chili peppers). The company we shared -- while complete luck of the draw -- was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed a five course dinner with wine pairings and swapped tales and experiences. Dan and Henry were wonderful hosts and we would be glad to come again if we ever get the opportunity. Likewise, we'd be delighted to host them or any of our fellow guests if we ever cross paths again. It was that comfortable of an evening. Thank you, Dan, for opening your home to us and cooking such a lovely, thoughtful meal.More

Dan & Henry were such lovely hosts and designed the elaborate 5-course menu to accommodate dietary restrictions. We absolutely...loved it and would recommend to anyone visiting Buenos Aires!More

Our group of 4 friends had a wonderful evening at Dan and Henry’s home - we were greeted with a welcome drink, and were introduced to fun, interesting and varied fellow travellers . Dan’s multi-course gourmet dinner and wine pairings was delicious, with Henry providing...excellent table service in a laid-back setting. Toward the end of the dinner, Dan was able to catch a breath and sit to participate in the animated conversations, plus provide some BA tips. We walked to/fro their home (about 10-15 mins) from our hotels. We would highly recommend this memorable experience. Reserve well ahead - you’ll be glad you did!!More

This is a lovely way to get your bearings in Buenos Aires! I'd only been in the city a couple of days and it was wonderful to spend an evening with strangers, each of us able to share our different perspectives and experiences. Our host...and chef, Dan, created some fabulous dishes with a variety of creative seasonings that really highlighted the foods being served. The wine pairings were nice, primarily featuring wines from Mendoza. I would have liked to have learned more about each of the wines/vineyards, but shame on me for not asking! Dan had to pull a bit of double duty as his partner Henry was not in the country when I attended. Definitely include this in your agenda during your stay in Buenos Aires!More

What an amazing dining experience! As a recent solo traveler in Buenos Aires I was delighted to get a reservation at Casa SaltShaker during my visit. The food was superb (watermelon gazpacho was out of this world!) and the other guests were fun and interesting....Dan and Henry were welcoming and hospitable. Highly recommend!More

An intimate experience of fine dining! Make your reservations early and be prepared to enjoy a high quality range of South American recipes. We’ve done this kind of thing before, and enjoy meeting new people/fellow travellers in a safe and comfortable home. Don’t expect to...find it on Google Maps! This was my 10th trip to Buenos Aires in the last 20 years and I have been to CasaSaltshaker multiple times. The experience is incredible with the gourmet food, the presentation, and the wonderful wine pairings. Meeting fellow travelors and sharing experiences and information has...been valuable. This meal I enjoyed the experience of eating foods not in my usual diet but learned how delicious they are. It is very impressive how this can be created and presented in a residential home. The attentiveness of his helpers are as good as in any five star restaurant. Another wonderful benefit is Dan sharing information about himself as an American living in Argentina. It really helped me understand more about the politcal and economic issuses of Argentina. We look forward to coming back again.More

Fantastic experience, in a private home but world class dinner. Hosts make you feel welcome and was super fun getting to know the other strangers around the table. Exchanged numbers and were friends by the end. Highly recommended.

The private dinner we attended was a truly spectacular experience. Our host's home was welcoming and beautifully decorated, setting a warm and inviting tone for the night. The carefully curated dinner was a culinary delight, featuring a perfect blend of traditional and innovative cuisines. Each...dish, from the crisp starter salad to the hearty main course and sublime dessert, was an exceptional showcase of our host's culinary talent. The intimate setting allowed for lively conversation and genuine connections. The evening was a testament to the unique charm of home gatherings, filled with personal touches that far surpass restaurant experiences. Such an incredible experience!! We reserved dinner at Casa Saltshaker for our very first night in Buenos Aires (would recommend to do the same), and it was a great way to start our trip in Buenos Aires as we were able to mingle with other...travelers from across the world and locals from Buenos Aires. The food was very tasty and creative, and the wine pairings were perfect. Dan and Henry were extremely welcoming hosts and created a safe and friendly environment to meet others across a shared table of food. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to (or living in Buenos Aires) to visit Casa Saltshaker. The hosts helped provide recommendations for the remainder of our trip (the other travelers gave us recs as well!) and made our first night in the city so memorable.More
