All I wanted to do in BA was visit Francis Mallmann's restaurant. I watched the Netflix special on him the day after I decided to become a chef, and he has a special place in my heart. My husband and I reserved our table 6 months in advance to be sure we could experience the restaurant. The night we reserved,... More

Great service! the type of service that you never really see, it just unfolds throughout your time at the restaurant. The food for each course of the tasting menu surpassed the next in with outstanding flavours and textures. Yes, it is expensive, but the trip to Argentina to eat here was worth it! If you want bring cost into it... More

Great service. Once you find the place the waiter walks you to the living room or bar and offers empanadas and a glass of champagne to relax before starting the dinner. The waiter then explains the 6 course menu and what we are in for. We took a few minutes to enjoy the decor and elegant yet home feel of... More

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at Patagonia Sur and everything was perfection. From the outside it doesnt look like much, but once inside it feels warm and inviting and the staff were exceptional. The food was beyond delicious and we were surprised course after course as each dish was better than the next. While it was pricey, it... More

After having visited Patagonia Sur I wasn't sure whether to be disappointed or ironically amused by visit. I paid more than four times the price the meal was worth in relation to the pricing of other decent restaurants in the city and even more than for the most Michelin star restaurants I visit at home in Germany (which serve a... We stepped into the Patagonia Sur as first customers of the evening and that made the experience even more unique. Waiting for the table with some treats from the kitchen felt like you would have come to pop in your special friend who have prepared things especially for satisfying your needs. Gluten free bread snacks were great (better than the... More

From the outside, it doesn't look like a restaurant. You have to ring a bell to get in. Beautiful inventory, sofa lounges where we were served sparkling wine. It feels like a home, a cosy living room and dining room. 8 guests when we visit the place. Max room for 12 guests in the restaurant. Very good food, 7 meal... More

I love this place. Two rooms in a setting that feels more like the milk bar from Kubrick's Clockwork Orange than a fine dining restaurant. Mallman's personality comes through from the casual environs to the very easy but professional service. So impressed. Met with delicious glasses of champagne and amuses bouches. Our server was the coolest. That's all I have... More

We were very excited to be going here after reading so much about it and seeing the pictures of the gorgeous food- the restaurant never failed to deliver a very unique dinning experience. Our taxi dropped us off on the corner where we saw a normal looking door and rang the bell (felt like a personal invite to dinner rather... More

After arriving in the middle of Boca to a small door in this red building you effectively enter someone's lounge and dining room. Only 11 people in the restaurant so very intimate. Service was professional and polite. Informative about the wine and food but make sure you ask questions to get the most out of the experience. They try to... More

Staying in La Boca

Neighbourhood Profile
La Boca
A neighbourhood defined by its immigrant roots, La Boca still maintains this past alive in its streets today. Due to its proximity to the river, the neighbourhood became the preferred settling area for immigrants of a wide variety of origins, who ended up living together in the conventillos. Thus, these houses became a melting pot of different cultures and traditions that birthed creations like tango and lunfardo. Nowadays, this legacy can be seen and felt on Caminito Street, which welcomes visitors with colourful facades, cobblestones, and street artists showcasing their skills. Just like its neighbor San Telmo, La Boca is one of the prime destinations to experience the traditions and customs that originated from the city’s immigrant past and which have shaped its distinct identity.
