This place is so appealing to the eye. Great decor, grill by the street, plenty of outdoor seating and nice servers. Yet when you have servers running around with no management to be seen (except at the cash register, collecting the proceeds), one stops to think. The food is above average, the servers, certainly better than most. But they are... More

First of all, the location is amazing. I also think this is the only restaurant in Buenos Aires to offer a salad bar - which is great. You can take whatever you want if you order a meat dish. I got the asado, and it wasn't great. It could've been, but it wasn't cooked as I asked. I'm not used... More

I wish I would have had my camera. This was a return trip to this gem of a restaurant. Located in a mostly residential area of the city, the trellised entrance is right at the intersection of two streets. to the right is a "covered" out door area with picnic style tables and benches. Straight ahead you enter the more... More

We were wandering around the suburb of Palermo in Buenos Aires looking for a certain restaurant when we chanced upon La Escondida. No booking was necessary which was good as it was around 8 p.m. We found a little booth in this quite enormous restaurant or should I say Parilla (Grill House). If you ordered from the grill you were... More

I have to say my overall dining out experience in Buenos Aires has been......meh! I did, however, really enjoy La Escondida. Not only was the beef tender and cooked just right* but there was also a salad bar! One of the things I miss when in Buenos Aires is vegetables which don't seem to come with meals and when they... Just can follow earlier recommendations. The salad bar is very nice&steak great as everywear in Argentinia but not overcooked which is usually the case. Very nice waitress: she spoke slow for us-clearly foreigners with poor spanish!!! Worth going!!!

Bife de lomo was great. First place I've been to here that didn't overcook the meat. There is a play area just for kids.

This is my first repeat review of this location and I am doing it because they made a night out with friends and family very memorable. My only prior complaint about this restaurant was that they would ignore our requests for medium-rare (jugoso) steak and would bring them out medium with no pink center - this is a common problem... We went on a Mon night right as they opened at 2030. They had plenty of tables inside and out and were happy to accommodate us with a baby and stroller. In fact, as it started to fill up later on I noticed many other children in the restaurant, something that is less common in the US but very normal... More
