we visited there after going to the fine arts museum. The staff were great, the place was busy, and the food was great. Very reasonably priced and decent wine by the glass. I would go back!

We spotted this restaurant down the road from our accommodation. We arrived around 8.15pm - plenty of tables without a reservation, but they were all full by 9ish. The hostess was helpful. She spoke good english, and the menu was all in Spanish and English. The wine very reasonably priced, we had a good chardonnay. The menu is extensive. Food... More

Great restaurant with a real local feel. Immerse yourself in the local culture and feel and eat like a local. The steaks are delicious and the wine selection is great. Service is great and attentive. Do try the Panqueque Dulce de leche. It is delicious!

2 of us visited here on a Saturday night and luckily managed to get a table as it was almost full! They have a wide menu (meat, chicken, fish, pasta) which is all reasonably priced. I ordered the garlic chicken which was accompanied with candied pumpkin. The food wasn't amazing but it definitely didn't disappoint like some places in the... More

Friendly service, excellent beef, good neighborhood ambiance. Also, very affordable. Worth checking out for a real "townie" experience in Buanos Aires. Full of local diners when we went on a Friday night.

Cozy local "bistro" in a style that hails from the 80s. It seems to have a loyal following. We all had slightly different versions of beef fillet and they were good. Dessert was lacklustre. Food was fresh and abundant, service correct and prompt. Being a bit on the small side, it can get crowded and therefore a bit noisy. I... More

We made reservations for 5 on a Saturday nite at 8:30 .They open at 8 or 8:30pm. By 9, most of the 1st floor tables were full. By the time we left after 10, about 1/2 of the upstairs was full. All of their selections have English transitions under the Spanish. But beware, that whoever translated, didn't always do it... More

It is mostly a restaurant for people living nearby. It is owner-managed and has good service, perhaps a little slow when the restaurant is full. The food is well prepared and served and the portions are not small. If you like a distended ambience, it is for you. Do not expect a trendy touristy restaurant. Wines in the midrange are... More

We happened upon Brut by accident. We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in. We sat upstairs and we were the first table to be seated there that night. It filled up shortly afterwards. We were a group of six with very limited Spanish. The server was patient with us and helped us determine how... More

The food is excellent, the service friendly, the prices are under what you can expect for such a lovely restaurant.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
