One of the best small bars in the Buenos Aires area. The place is vegan and its the quintessential "small" bar experience. All food is made to order and I love the fact that he uses herbs next to the boor to season the food. Small portions and fresh food is a combination that must be experienced. I cant wait... More

We stopped by one evening when we needed a bite, but not a big meal. Gabriella helped us and chose our dishes after asking us if there was anything we didn't like. Gabriella scored 100%. The dishes she chose were perfect. This is a sweet little place reminiscent of something you would find in Portland, Oregon. It is meagerly furnished... More

Laid back bar with excellent drinks and nice food... and amazing, super friendly service. They also serve traditional mate and patagonian cider.

I have been staying in San Telmo for 5 days and passed by Yauss Club many times. Never thought to enter to eat. I am glad I did and I will definitely come back. I had four tapas and they were all elaborate and delicious. The place is small and not part of the established food destinations but if in... More

Amazing service by Ala and Maxi and amazing food by Jesus. Even ordered a second round of tapas to enjoy the delightful taste. The eggplant, tortilla de papas and the saltadito carne were so delicious we licked everything from the plates! The atmosphere is also great, the music is blending in with the decoration of the place making it a... More

We are the first to admit that our Spannish isn't great. But the staff were so lovely and friendly we were able to use our best Spanishlish to order a really tasty meal. Really felt the staff cared and they took the time to see that we got what we wanted and the food was good. The food was very... More

Originally set on seeing another local San Telmo restaurant, we stumbled upon the Yauss Club with it's inviting allure of a fresh, hip and lively atmosphere. From Chinese tourists to local patrons, Javo Mendez has captured the spirit of Buenos Aires' emergent and mobile young professionals. He, his brother and staff graciously introduced us to their profession of being ambassadors... More

Perfect little corner bistro with a hip vibe and really yummy food. Fresh juice, cider, savory crepes and waffles can't be beat.

All and all, very cozy and comfortable; the interior design was pleasing to the eye, and the fact that it's hand made adds to the authenticity.

The house is small but the heart is big: the popular saying applies perfectly to Yauss, a little bar of San Telmo with arty imprint. From the stained-glass window, the small room with a few tables draws attention to its eclectic decoration, which mixes murals painted on the walls with Christmas lights, dolls and other details of a neatly uncluttered setting that arouses the curiosity of the most varied passers- Forcing them to appear shyly at the door. And as you watch, the hosts invite you to come in, offer a complimentary glass of wine, with an informal kindness that is hard to refuse. For midday, sweet and salty waffles (from $ 75) are highly recommended, which are cooked to taste from a varied list of ingredients. You can take advantage of the brunch, which is served daily, and includes a waffle with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and cheese, plus green garnish, orange juice and coffee for $ 235. They also have a daily dish with drink for $ 125. At night, however, the tapas are imposed. The portions are not very large, but the friendly price invites you to order a good assortment (each $ 50, three for $ 125). For the end, a Catalan inspired dessert, the Mel i killed, fresh ricotta with honey and cinnamon. The pride of the house is the artisan cider, since they are partners of the Patagonian cooperative that produces it. They offer a dry variety (60% pear, 40% apple) shot and another sweet in the bottle. They also have a special promo: customers who carry a gift plant, receive a pint of free drink in return, and with these contributions they are putting together a nice green collection. The place was once WaflesSur, but its owner Javier decided to renew it to add their cultural concerns. Now the walls of Yauss become an impromptu art gallery that offers artists and photographers the possibility to display and market their work at no cost. In March, in addition, they are in full contest to renew their facade with a new mural, mimicking with the bohemian harmony of the neighborhood.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
