Lovely service, đelicious steak, no rush! It is more expensive, but will worth the cost for a delicious steak and great wine list.

The beef items on the menu are incredible, so tender and tasty. We had a few appetizers like the cheese plate, and some salads which were very standard. They were out of fresh veggies which was kind of strange. Go here if you want a fancy meal!!

Having visited a number of Argentine steak house over the last week I was far from impressed, too much hype and nothing particularly special, until that is I visited La Carbon this evening. An absolute gem, the food staff and ambience were exactly what I had expected from Argentina and more. Had the plain rib eye and have to say... More

Warm welcome. Menu in English....for us idiots who don't read spanish that well. Wonderful waiter looking after us. Huge portions steak was perfect i had salmon which at home would have been 3 portions. We over ordered sides. All finished off with lovely petit fours and coffee Bill was £50 for 2 people Would definitely recommend and will certainly go... More

I was a bit disappointed, the meat was ok but not exciting for Buenos Aires standard. It was swimming in a heavy sauce which covered the taste of the meat. The price was acceptable (about 40$ for salad, meat, glass of wine and water). The service at my table was fast but cold. Little anecdote for your amusement: They forgot... More

Food is good, but prices are really too high. Almost only tourists in the restaurants, no citizen from Buenos-Aires (they must know they can eat same quality for 50% less!). Service is medium.

We both enjoyed the rib eyes. Better than more expensive places we had been including one of the top three. Service was adequate for BA. We would return.

This restaurant is in the center of BA, i choosed to eat there for my last meal in south america for the good reviews here in TripAdvisor. And it was a good choiche! The meat was the most tender i never eat, maybe the taste was not so intense like the classic italian meat (i'm from italy!) but the steak... More

After visiting many parrillas on a daily visit during our trip to Argentina, we decided that Al Carbon was the top choice. The Bife de Chorize, Bife de Lomo and Ojo de Bife were spectacular. I would also go with their recommended wine from Viniterra winery that paired perfectly with our meal. The quality of the cuts were outstanding as... More

I was there for my birthday (27-10). if you go to Argentina , you go for meat. What we did. The restaurant is new (in an old neighbourhood) .. Bife de chorizo. Excellent food with a great wine. Service better then can be expected. In the evening the resto is quite calm.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
