While strolling through Alto Palermo Mall, the aroma of coffee was inviting. So we stopped for coffee/cream & toasted ham sandwich. Just what we needed for our afternoon snack!

They just open a very nice place at the underground level in Recoleta neighborhood. Nice decoration, don't you worry, you will pay for that. We wait for half an hour for our food to receive a little tiny portion of what we order, microwave cooked or heated. Very expensive.

I was just passing by, so when i decided to have a sit and ask for some espressos shots. This is was when i decided to try their Brownie... The difference? They add "dulce de leche" also! That was one of the best pies i ever tried in my whole life! Can't miss!!!

The restaurant is in a good location in the heart of galerias pacifico. The service is fast enough but the waitress never polite. I read other reviews with the same comments but couldn t believe till I suffered it by myself. It s a pity.

Although Francesca is always full, specially with locals, its food and service are very average and prices relatively high (unless you pick something from their daily menu). I ate a "milanesa Napolitana" which was just fine, and seemed to be cooked on a microwave. Maybe other plates are better, but I am not sure it is really worth the trouble... More

We came here for a quick bite at lunch time, had a tasteless tuna sandwich on a half-baked pale baguette and a slightly better ham, cheese and lettuce sandwich on toasted bread, together with a glass of red wine and a cafe con leche, spent USD28 which was certainly not worth it.

We sat down to take a break from the Galerias Pacifico shopping mall. We indicated to the waitress that we were going to eat lightly and she said we could sit down only for lunch. So, we ordered lunch which was good but the waitress spoiled our feeling of enjoyment. It is a quiet spot and very clean and appealing...just... More

Over the years we visited this place, in the Galerias Pacifico, a couple of times to have lunch, because it has a great location and good food, The service has never been good, but got worse over the years, yesterday we left the place after waiting a long time and then being attended in a very impolite way, we even... Quiet and lovely cafe under the stairs. Quick service though staff could be a bit more friendly to new customers. Food is great and so is the coffee

We ate at Francesca Restaurante twice during our brief stay in Buenos Aires. It was across the street from our hotel. Both times the meal was excellently prepared. The wait staff were very patient with our 'English-only' language. The restaurant, situated in an upscale mall, seems to be a favorite of locals for a cafe and dessert.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
