This restaurant is really special. The food is delicious, as is the wine. You are greeted with a glass of champagne while you read the menu. The service is excellent. Everybody working there makes you feel welcome. We went there three times during a weeklong...stay in Buenos Aires and got to know the two sisters Norma and Doris who run it. Doris even taught me the basic steps of the tango! All the waiters are exceptional. This restaurant is fantastic!More

Popped in just before 8pm, no reservation, no problem ! Charming staff, happily accepted with recommendation Zapata Malbec, well worth the £15 😀, so much so had another. Provoleta to start was really tasty, with sun dried tomatoes. The presentation and preparation of the dish...at the table was a joy to watch. Main course.. slipped up again... food portions so large, could easily share. Lomond, papas, ensalada y milanesa... no room for the dessert. Beautiful setting, charming service, by 9.30 absolutely full of local families, well worth the visit.More

They open at noon on Saturday and Sundays. We had reservations for 1pm & chose inside. All those white table clothes looked great. By 2, every table seemed taken as well as outside. They were hoppin! Most side dishes were enough for 4 & bread...was fresh. The blue exchange rate was 900p/$1). We ordered the lomo(6,800p/US$7.56), Mashed Calabaza, Butternut Squash at 3,900p/US$4.33, 2 Empanadas at 900p/US$1 each, then Panqueque de dulce leche(3,200p/US$3.56. Cubierto was 800p@. So our bill with a water & a coffee came to almost $21. What a bargain for such as nice restaurant with good food, atmosphere, waiters & fellow diners, who most appeared to be locals!!! We shared the lomo which came as 3 separate smaller pieces, in totaled maybe was 8oz. Perfect for us 2 retired people. But the waiter said we could order 3 more if it was not enough. They have an English menu also! We will be back to try their milanesa, pasta & other desserts! We normally tip at 10% in BA, but gave 15% today. Where in the USA could one eat like this & only leave a $3.50 tip!!!More

I’ve been living in and coming to Buenos Aires for over 20 years, so I’ve eaten at most of the steakhouses in BA. I was amazed tonight when I went to war with my family and mother in law. The steaks were just as good...as Don Julio I’d not better. The service was incredible and we had the most polite waiter that told us when to order more and when it was enough food. He was spot on target. The restaurant is beautiful and service couldn’t be better. These prices here are half the price at Don Julio. Everything we ate was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I highly recommend this place and I will be back again soon.More

Couldn't fault the service, classic Argentinian steak, perfect chips and hand-dressed rocket salad. The complimentary limoncello just capped it off. Obviously a favourite with the locals of all generations. Highly recommended

We ordered a parrillada (grill) for 2, and an extra steak for my wife’s cousin. The sausage was the best I’ve had in a long time, flavorful, not salty, just melts in your mouth; the blood pudding, and other specialty meats were good. The meat...and chicken well cooked to perfection, and great testing. The French fries were fresh and hand cut, delicious. For desert we shared a flan (crème caramel) with dulce de leche, it had a perfect texture, and a taste that brought me back to childhood; my wife and I were racing each other. It was a little pricey, but not too bad. Service was the only letdown, it was just ok.More

We didn’t book and tried to roll into Don Julio, obviously didn’t. We found La Choza and as it was early we managed to get an unreserved table. The steaks were excellent as was the wine. Looking at the 2 menus I wonder if DJ...is a lot of hype, we certainly ate for better value at La Choza.More

After we had a wonderful dinner on our first night in BA at Don Julio, we asked our hotel for a recommendation for our last night. They recommended La Choza (which is approx. 10 minutes away from Don Julio) as a good alternative. And they...were right. The service isn't as excellent (80%), the food isn't that perfect (90%), the wine selection isn't that great (70%) BUT everything comes at half price (50%). If I had to choose again between the 2 I would choose La Choza because you get real value for your Pesos!More

We ordered ojo de bife, spinach salad “La Choza”, creamed spinach, and mashed pumpkin , however our waiter insisted that it was too little food and that we were going to be hungry afterwards. This was after he tried to sell us the special over...and over as well as the promotional bottle of wine. But this is the typical traditional Argentinean service that some people love, and some (like me) really don’t. So, trusting his advice, we ordered another steak (entraña). In the end, we left 3/4 of our food untouched. It was way too much. The food that we did eat, however, was DELICIOUS. The stars are more a reflection of the style of traditional Argentinean steakhouse service, not necessarily our waiter specifically. In the end, there were various naked attempts to try to get us to buy more and higher priced dishes. I really wish waiters would focus on trying to HELP the diners have the best experience possible instead of trying to shove whatever they can sell down their throats.More

Came here after a reservation mixup with Don Julio. What a wonderful mistake. We were rewarded with exceptional food and service. This night was out highlight. Very friendly people around us. We split the lomo (portions are huge), the creamed spinach and the mashed potatoes.... Delicious. I could eat the spinach here every day. The wine list was very good as well. They gave us complimentary glasses of champagne. We couldn't believe how well priced it was. We hope to come back. So lovely.More

We had an Airbnb Steak and Wine Tasting Experience in this restaurant. It was chosen specifically by our host as the best place for traditional Argentinean dishes that would compliment the wines he presented (Diego brought his own). The food we sampled was all delicious...- especially the grilled provolone, the empanadas, the creamed spinach, and the steak. The restaurant was formal, but not stuffy and the service was excellent. We were so happy to have found this local favorite in Palmero.More
