The gelato is delicious! We went a few times during our recent visit to Buenos Aires and every flavor we tried was excellent! The staff was really great in helping us decide which flavors to choose! We also ate dinner there one night and it was good for sandwiches and salads.

Best ice cream in town, fresh ice cream/gelato is a big deal in BA with a number of places in the better part of town, with prices to match. This one is the best of the lot with a fresh batch daily with changing flavors. The Pistachio is especially good.

It is gelato but it isn't .. it is too good to be able to name it. It is so full of fresh flavor, no matter what flavor you choose you will love it. The only problem is, you will want to keep going back and getting more gelato.

Our family of six had a quick gelato here. I thought the quality of the gelato was good but not great - nothing like Amorino, for example. I ordered dark chocolate which was pretty good but the passion fruit didn't taste like real passion fruit to me. Ambience is also just ok, looks nicer from the outside than it was... More

A must after a visit to Recoleta. Dark chocolate and passion fruit ice-cream among the best we have ever had, counting Italy. Cool interiors with art-exhibition.

Arkakao is a tipical Italian bar in The heart of recoleta. The space inside is very cool And confortable. They have a real italian espresso (lavazza) and a delicious gelato. If you are around recoleta you should go to arkakao

Went there for lunch and had the menu of the day for 170 peso. Great meal started with a drink, bruschetta, fresh fish and then one of their delicious gelatos (mascarpone and berries). They also give you a selection of breads and a roasted eggplant/vege dip to start which is a lovely tough. For the price is really good quality... More

We had returned to our hotel in Recoleta after having dinner. We asked the night manager, who did not speak English very well, if there was someplace to get gelato in the area. After motioning,

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
