The kreplach were absolutely delicious, the salad with salmon balls was not great- the salmon was dry. I think the pastrami was probably the best idea. Nice place for NY style Jewish food

Went for lunch with my tour guide, Gustavo Bodner. Best Pastrami I've ever had. The place was fun and the food is excellent. Don't miss!

More

Located in a “real” BA neighborhood (outside downtown). You can easily get there by subway (B line). This place is so very nice to have a lunch break on an easy Saturday noon. A word of warning: don’t eat too much at breakfast. You have to go to La Crespo kind of hungry. The dishes are very generous and it... More

La Crespo serves authentic Eastern European & Russian cuisine of Jewish heritage. This place is as authentic as my memories can tell. It's a freshener for your palate in a city with an abundance of restaurants focused on meats and breads. The potato latkes were perfectly cooked and plated. The pastrami meat served here offers a leaner and thicker take... More

Need a change from your beef-based tourist's diet? Try La Crespo! This is a friendly lunchtime café in Villa Crespo on the corner of c/Thames and c/Vera. Interior is simple, spacious and bright. Staff are extremely friendly and service is fast. Menu consists of Jewish, Eastern-European specialities, which are delicious and very reasonably priced. Perfect for a stop-over for a... More

You don't have to be Jewish to love really good Jewish deli food. I've lived for years in NY and LA, home of great delis. I never thought I'd have to come to BA to find the real thing. I found it . Really home made, and the secret is Clarita, the charming owner, chef, maitre 'd, and manager who... More

The one thing we really miss not living in Melbourne is not getting our fix of our old Jewish favourite foods and La Crespa certainly fulfilled our cravings. We now live in Rio de Janeiro, but there is no Jewish deli like this one! We started with chopped liver and herring salad, both excellent. Then had potato latkes with sour... More

Since we are one month into our 2 month stay in BA.....and we had a stop at Uriate and Gorriti today, it was the perfect opportunity to meander down to Thames 612 and try the Hot Pastrami Sandwich. The interior is not as small as i expected, but after trying a high table with a stool (the stool was SO... More

Its like a new york style jewish "fast food" restaurant. They have Kniches ands Boios and Hot pastrami sandwiches...But it is very local in its fashion and decoration. Quite interesting!
