The food was good, but the service is terrible, even when the restaurant was almost empty. We had to wait 10 minutes to get the menus; we had to ask for refills of beverages; it took them 40 minutes to serve the entree/main course; they forgot things that we asked for. To summarize: no initiative from the waiters; we always... More

Our last night in Buenos Aires and we went to La Pecora Nera for our goodbye South America dinner. The services was especially friendly, the decore sophisticated and comfortable, and the food was almost perfect. My risotta was undercooked, but the waiter gladly took it back to the kitchen. I would happily recommend this restaurant, but suggest you get their... More

Why? Because i can't complain about a single dish we ordered. Even the bread was amazing . The restaurant is located one block from the Recoleta Cementary . We were staying very close at the Urban Suites . I read the reviews prior to my trip so i made sure that we took a break from the Bife de Chorizo... More

Fantastic food, attentive service. We traveled Chile and Argentina for 5 weeks and this was the best food we had (I have to hunt down good places due to allergies so no maccas or empanadas). The restaurant is small and well decorated - most diners dressed for the occasion but a few had t-shirts and jeans, so the atmosphere is... More

Perfect for when you're just a little tired of beef (BDW, beef is great in BA). For us, this italian restaurant really hit the spot. It's a little pricey for dinner, compared to other options round but we thought it was worth it. The service was attentive enough and friendly, the house red wine was great.

Being Italian (from Rome) it's not easy to find a good Italian place when I travel abroad. Well, this place highly exceeded my expectations. Food was really tasty and most important of all, Italian. Service was quick and responsive to any request. I would recommend it to any Italian or foreigner willing to experience Italian cuisine. The owner Matthias was... More

We were recommended to this place and loved it. Not too many tourists, smallish, very good food, service, atmosphere. It was a short walk from our hotel (Mio) and highly recommended. The shrimp risotto was wonderful.

We were passing through BA to meet up with friends in Patagonia. They were here a week earlier and liked it so much they made a reservation for us. The food was excellent, in particular the octopus carpaccio. The service however was very Parisian...

Wish we had discovered this gem when we stayed at the nearby Alvear Palace. At first glance the restaurant seemed a little formal but our server immediately made us feel welcome and our lack of Spanish did not detract from an exceptional meal. The fixed price lunch was an excellent choice - we selected melt in your mouth strudel tiepido... More

I went for dinner with my fiancee and my parents and have a wonderfull night. Food was exceptional, in particular the "Filetto alla Rossini Di Vitello" The service was also great. It was a really nice touch that Daniel Hansen, the chef, went to every table to say hi.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
