Il Gran Caruso is a big Italian restaurant in Palermo Hollywood. The menu was loaded with all kinds of Italian food, so if that's what you're looking for then it's a great place to eat! Will be busy on the weekends. The pizza grande is HUGE! Be aware... :) Our service wasn't that good - took long and he forgot... More

North Americans should be aware of the hidden costs when dining here. Four of us ordered 2 medium pizzas with water and our bill totaled $82 not including a tip. To break it down, we were charged $3.50 per person for the bread and small bowl of olives that were delivered to our table (bread is often complimentary as we... More

This was our favorite restaurant experience in Buenos Aires! The food was great and the service was very good, too. We had the eggplant parmigiana, lasagne, canelones (yum!), antipasto, tiramisu and everything was great! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a good experience without a crazy price tag! The next time I'm in BA, this will be one... More

In spite of its' large size, Il Gran Caruso provided an attentive dining experience and excellent food. We were a party of six and each ordered a different menu item and each was excellent. Portions were large and appetizers sized well enough to share---and share we did! Wine list was quite good and featured not only good Argentinian wines (as... More

We had the best time at this restaurant. Italian menu, with great choices. Our waiter Gaston Mozo was exceptional. He poured a great drink, served our meal in a timely fashion and accomodated all of our requests. I had the opportunity to chat with most of the staff. I showed the staff a video of the Go Cubs Go song... More

My friends and I had dinner here at Il Gran Caruso. Need to make reservations ahead of time. A more upscale eatery, it is known for attracting celebrities, and without fail, there were a few the night we were there. The food is top notch, and the service is excellent. Although it's an Italian restaurant and they're famous for their... More

Wonderful local restaurant in Palermo. The pasta was superb and very large portions. Cannelloni and ravioli were light and served with a scrumptious sauce. Don't forget to order dessert-- the Volcano is a great choice with its molten chocolate centre.

We ate here at the advice of our hotel (Dazzler) and were not disappointed. In Argentina you drink Malbecs so my wife and I each ordered a single glass. The waiter brought a bottle, showed it to me, and then proceeded to pour half of it into my glass and the other half into my wife's. They are not shy... More

Lovely traditional Italian Restauant in Palermo. Friendly, excellent service & delicious food. Waiters helpfully & very attentive although the place was very busy. It seems very popular with locals & as the waiters seem to know a lot of the diners.

Excellent Food with Excellent Service! We decided to eat early and still had to wait. They are open for lunch until 4pm and then again for dinner from 8pm. The food was delicious! I had one of their home made pasta dishes, and my husband had their veal - both were excellent. But you must have Grandma's Tiramisu. Nice wine... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
