La Biela has a long history of hosting Formula One Race Teams, Owners and Major Players (like Politicians, yuck) of all Ilks in Buenos Aires. It is a fun, friendly bar-eatery with English easy, clean restrooms and cold beer. La Biela is across the park space in front of Recoleta Cemetery...you'll be ready for a cold brew after searching for... More

We had a nice lunch there. The portions were very large. It is a famous locale with a lot of auto racing memorabilia. The prices are higher if you eat outside.

We stopped her after visiting recoleta cemetery. Its a hundred yards or so. The restaurant is big, busy and full of locals and tourists alike. We had croissants, coffee and a rest, very professional, all male waiters, who really know their job - I guess some have been doing it for a long time.

We had an early lunch outside. The waiter was excellent, our Spanish is pretty basic so he went over our order and checked that it was right. He took the time to ensure we were happy. We had a lovely white wine and plate of meats, cheeses and olives. Although you pay a bit more to sit outside it was well... More

This cafe is huge, I've never seen a cafe so big! Offering inside and outside dining, it offers breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. It has old mentos of the racing car days of old and the service was lovely. I had breakfast here before visiting the famous cemetery just across the road. I liked it so much I suggested it... More

After spending the morning sightseeing, we decided that some refreshing snack was required. Although we visited during the busy lunch time, we had no problem in securing seating inside. Great al fresco area but the air conditioning was attractive. Warm welcome with instant switch from Spanish to fluent English, great table location, prompt menu service and chilled water supplied. Advised... More

This is definitely worth a stop for a coffee or Mimosa under the beautiful banyon tree. The staff is attentive and just so sweet. Afterwards stroll through the open air market or Recoleta cemetery.

You may sit in or outside (weather permitting), and is a nice finish, or starting point, for visiting the Recoleta Cemetery and Cultural Center. Great coffee...European atmosphere.

Conveniently placed under awesome trees this is a popular Buenos Aires meeting point. Excellent salads and a range of meat and fish dishes as well as sandwiches and burgers. Otherwise coffee and cakes or a glass of beer or wine.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
