This is quite the spot for fish and chips fix in Mesa. It is just around the corner from the Mesa/Main light rail stop, so plan to make a day of it and get lunch or dinner while you are nearby.

Pete's has been in downtown Mesa since I was a kid.more than 50 years. I can always count on it to taste the same. I like the fish and chips and usually choose that. I love the hot dipping sauce and always order extra. This is the opposite of fine dining. They have old, repainted red picnic tables outside the... More

I was in Mesa for a convention and this was within walking distance (much needed walk after sitting!). A local said she hadn't been but heard it was amazing. Ok, maybe not amazing. I had a fish/shrimp combo. The fish is square but had a great flavor - very flaky and cooked perfectly. The sauce is not horrible, but I... More

Pete's Fish & Chips (Mesa location) is seriously good. It has anything from burgers to sandwiches, but the best meals are the combos with the fried shrimp and fried fish with fries. Don't forget to get plenty of sauce either! It's any easy location with plenty of parking, and you'll see how popular it gets for lunch and dinner. Expect... More

I started eating at Pete's when it was on Mill Ave. in Tempe. It was a welcomed treat to my so-so cooking. The food is basic fish and a sizeable helping of chips. It is soft on your wallet and the food is quite good. Pete's transferred out of Tempe to Mesa in the 1990's on Mesa Drive and Main... More

I liked the food quality and the timely delivery. However the seating is outside on picnic like atmosphere. The condiments are dreadful. I bring my own tarter sauce and catchup. Petes is located near the Mesa Arts Center and a good spot to eat before the show. If you want fast service just run to and from the order window.

The messy fish sandwich is my favorite. They always make it fresh and it's always delicious. It is outdoor seating only, so even with the misters it can be pretty hot it the summer.

A small place that only accepts cash with a drive-thru. It was so busy we were excited to try it. We are from the bay area where there are many great fish and chips places. The fish was not a fillet but like minced fish pressed together. I don't understand the hype, very disappointing.
