The setting is beautiful, right on lake sochagota. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is extremely nice. The menu is basic: a few apps, a couple of meat dishes, seafood, pastas, and ceviches. Upon arrival we got some warm fried green plantains with...the typical onion and tomato sauce. We ordered the trout and the ceviche. Both were acceptable. I wouldnt come back and order them again, but if i had to eat them again, its ok. No dessert or coffee here.More
Great view and service. Unfortunately the food wasn’t the best. I ordered the chicken and my wife had the shrimp. The chicken was alright and it came with a nice baked potato, but that’s the only nice thing I can say about the food. Colombia...has so many great restaurants to offer, but this one was the worst I’ve been to yet. The shrimp were rubbery and flavourless, the salad was an unappetizing pile of boiled vegetables on a plate, the coconut rice was tasteless and the extra salad we ordered was basically lettuce with chopped peanuts on top. I don’t understand the positive reviews.More
I was at this restaurant with my family and I received a average service. I ask for an Argentinean beef steak and I received the worst beef steak. It was thin, greasy and of bad quality. I would not recommend to eat this dish here....However, I have to mention that the place is beautiful. It has a good scenery.More
terrible service, dirty tables, and gross food. the only thing positive is the location, which gives you a nice view of the lake. plus the atmosphere inside is like a cafeteria but the prices are more than cafeteria prices. i'd only go there again for...a drink and i'd only be outside.More
Situated at the shore of the lake Sochagota this place is center for the naval life.
Footwalked from Paipa center , 30 min ,
The interior of the restaurant is little "plastico".
Ordered panfried fish fillet and a soup of camarones ( shrimp, clams &...fish).
The fillet was ok, but the soup base felt like from a can, plenty of shrimps -ok, Tilapia,
2 clams and another fish like s piece of rubber, not possible to chew...
With 1/2 bottle of vine
almost $COP 100.000 , sorry.....More
It is a good standard. It has a good ratio quality-price. The place is homy and has a beautiful view towards the lake. About the coffee they have to take more care about the quality and the precision about how to serve a coffee -a...single espresso it is actually like a triple one!-. Some of the dishes are pretty good: the grilled trout and the “calentado de la casa”.More
Paipa does not have the best food in the region (Villa de Leyva wins hands down), but for Paipa, the food is good. The views across the lake are suberb, even when the weather isn't great. The place has limited vegetarian options (one salad, which...is actually vegan), but you can ask for the spinach ricotta ravioli with butter instead of the camarone sauce. they do bring out free patacones, which i guess could be vegan, if you're not too picky about how they are fried. service was good, as we got to the restaurant before 1pm (Colombians tend to show up for lunch starting at 115pm). for 72,000cop, we had 2 salads, the ravioli, deditos de queso, 2 soda waters and 2 aguilas, which is expensive, but not out of the ordinary for this type of place. service was good, which is always refreshing.More
South America is known for its steaks. We had a steak here and it was almost an insult to our taste buds. It was tough and tasteless. They gave very few condiments with it. My wife moans about how poor steaks in the UK are...but this place was probably one of the worst steaks we had ever tasted.
To add insult to injury, paying the bill became a joke. There were 3 couples and we asked to split the bill - you would have thought that we had asked for something really stupid because it took them over 10 minutes fiddling around with calculators to work it out. There are far better restaurants around here and I would suggest you don't try this one.More
