We stopped at this little gem because our usual stop in Superior, didn’t answer the phone. Well that cost them a pair if customers. We stopped at Dona Lolo and ordered crispy beef tacos and a Red Chili Burro. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm some of the best tacos...we’ve had. The Red Chili was awesome, too. We know our Mexican Food and while 1 stop isn’t enough to anoint this place #1, the Tacos and Red Chili rank right up there.More

We were one of our he last diners to eat here - the sign on the door said they were closing on May 14th. As we passed through the area hungry and wanting good Mexican food we stopped and had one of the best lunches...we've ever had. They were in business 15 years and we know why. Everything was prepared fresh. Thank you Casa Denogean!More

We had a late lunch with a family group at this restaurant and all of the food was delicious and freshly prepared. Our service was fantastic and the prices extremely reasonable. I highly recommend it. The woman who recommended it said that service can be...slow during busy times because the food is all freshly prepared. Our wait time was very reasonable but it was after the lunch crowd.More

We chose to go to the Casa Denogean after our visit to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. We waited a little bit as there seemed to be only one server and she was busy with orders and people paying their bills. After we ordered we had...delicious Mexican food. We each ordered something different and we all were extremely pleased with our choices. The server was very friendly and had a beautiful smile.More

Stopped by for a late lunch after a few hours at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Friendly service. Clean. Big portions. The menu has a basic Mexican appearance, but the food was incredibly tasty. When we are back in the area, we will return!! Thanks!

Very tasteful meats, with unbeatable prices. Clean and friendly. Be sure to try their soups! Perfect lunch spot before hitting the arboretum.

This is a small restaurant. We hadn't been here in awhile because we thought the original lady had retired - she cooked and her granddaughter was the server. The grandson is making a go of it now so the food is very similar to what...grandma did. On arrival, there were three other tables, one of which had arrived just before us, so the server was busy. It was probably 5 to 10 minutes before she came over and apologized, which was no big deal because we could see her delivering hot food to others. She brought us a basket of warm chips, an empty bowl, and a squeeze container with salsa in it. The chips had good flavor, the salsa was thinner than we like but it had really good flavor which is what we prefer. We each ordered the taco, tostada, and enchilada dinner that also came with rice. He asked if his taco would be made with ground taco meat rather than shredded beef and if ground taco meat could be added to the tostada. The server checked with the cook and came back to tell us that the cook would do it for him. The enchilada was cheese with just a bit of sauce and melted cheese on top. The taco and tostada was loaded with fresh veggies. Everything including the rice had really good flavor. The server offered more chips when she brought our dinner and we asked for a few - she brought almost another whole basket nice and warm and fresh - seemed homemade! Meals including tax was $17.71 and we ate every bite! It's nothing fancy and you have to be prepared to wait since it is small with few workers, but the food is good if you're in Superior, give it a try.More

After visiting the Boyce Thompson Arboretum my crew and I were starving. After looking on Trip Advisor and Yelp we decided on Casa Denogean. The out of the building is a typical weathered desert building with the inside being well worn also. Once inside, it...was obvious that most of the customers were local as others have observed in their reviews. However, we were promptly greeted, drink order taken, and chips and salsa delivered to our table. I have eaten a lot of chips and salsa, but the chips and salsa at Cafe Denogen were some of the best I have ever eaten! The cops were thin and crisp and not salty. The salsa was a perfect blend of chili's, very little tomato and flavored to perfection. Our meal was also just as perfect with no complaints from the 4 of us. In fact, my brother in law and his wife plan to make the drive from Mesa to eat there on a regular basis which says a lot about the restaurant.More

Ended up waiting for the food and afterward glad to do it because it was the tastiest Mexican food ever and the reason to go about 45 miles without an excuse

It takes a little bit to get your food, but it's so worth it. Good tasting, good portion, friendly service. Love it, tastes just like mine and my mom's food. It's a must stop if in the Superior area.
