We have now eaten at Allala eight times, and every time is as good as the time before. One has to ask around in order to find this restaurant, as it is off the "beaten path," but once found, you will be in for a wonderful dining experience. Seiko, the owner is hands-on in every way. She prepares the food... More

Now I've been trying all the places in town and this wins for foreign cuisine. Service was spot on from when I arrived. The chow mein was delicious. The right balance of vegetables, noodles and sauce. The sake reminded me of sake in the Japanese restaurants back home. The bonus dessert was a lovely touch. I even purchase goods (... More

Hard to find, in a dark alleyway which has no other businesses nearby, just peoples houses. Need to ask someone how to find. The place inside is quite cool. When we went there was a japanese guy playing guitar all night. Very chilled place - its nice. Staff are very slow, as is the food arrival. However food is quality!

Good value and large portions of Japanese food. The setting is odd...tucked away in a narrow passageway, with dirt floors and low, sagging ceilings made of translucent corrugated plastic sheeting. Half the restaurant appears to be a second hand women's clothing rack. Wicker chairs angle backwards and make for and uncomfortable dining experience.

If you love Asian food then you will Love this place. Very hard to find but well worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious. Chicken Teriyaki , Vegetable chow Mein, Miso soup and Hot Saki, total came out to 120Q. Highly recommend this place. Closed on Wednesday and open from 3pm-9pm.

Loved everything we ate, especially the miso soup which was packed with tofu and veg. This is not a place specialising in sushi but the sushi they served us was very tasty! Service was great and the complimentary desert was delicious. A little hard to find but locals will be able to point you in the right direction!!

The food was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I had the curry and teriyaki chicken and we both thought we had winners. For 80quetzal it was by far worth it and much much better than any other food we've had in San Marcos for with a good price. Portions fantastic and the teriyaki was a whole chicken breast and succulent... More

We first ran into the owner I the plaza where he sold the best croquets I have ever tasted. When we tried to find the restaurant we had to ask at least 4 people and walk along a narrow path that seemed to lead nowhere. We ordered misu soup and tempura vegetables - both were very good. When we asked... More

All you can eat Sushi night (15th of every month) is not to missed!! Funky little restaurant hidden in the back paths of San Marcos (near the Soccer Field) is the place to enjoy sushi, saki & the best Pollo 'Pizza'... Live music, insane 'pacca' clothing that will have you dressing up with friends & cosy space - makes for... More

Glad to hear that the place is still open. I've been there with my wife on our honeymoon in August 2007 when it just opened. Hard to find place but well worth it. Great manager (it was just her and a boyfriend at the time), the best sushi I've eaten anywhere (as a vegetarian, it's hard to hide a bad... More
